Are you interceding on behalf of a loved one? Are you frustrated because you feel like God is not answering your prayers?
Listen, it is not our responsibility to be “the grower,” it is our responsibility (if the moment presents itself), to be the sower or the person who waters what has already been sown.
Jesus spoke about the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:1-9:
“That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around Him that He got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then He told them many things in parables, saying:
“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and chocked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop – a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let him hear.”
It is God’s responsibility to allow the increase but it ALL depends on what type of soil the seeds fall on. That too is not our responsibility. Our responsibility is to walk in the calling God has called us to walk, planting seeds as He leads us, showing the light of Christ, continuing to intercede and pray on behalf of others and BELIEVE God for answered prayer. Our responsibility is also NOT to judge what type of soil the seed falls on – that is ALL up to the individual and their willingness to receive, and on the Lord for bringing the individual into a place where the soil is good and His Word can take root. And for us to do ALL that He leads us to do in love…
Beloved, as much as you love whoever it is you are bringing to God in prayer, remember HE LOVES THEM MORE. You really CANNOT out love God. TRUST Him. He knows what He is doing and He knows your loved one EVEN better than YOU do. We have to continue interceding and believing, hey – if God can change OUR hearts for Him, He can MOST CERTAINLY change the hearts of our loved ones. Keep believing, keep praying!
“Thank You Father for we know that it is NOT Your will that ANY should perish. We commit our loved ones to You. In Jesus’ name AMEN.”
