You ARE Called to Pray!

The blessings of God are all around us – but I also feel the spiritual warfare which has been EXTREMELY strong.  

I’m pretty sure those of you who are prayer warriors can feel it too – I have been interceding in prayer for so many that I love… We are CALLED to pray.  We are CALLED to intercede.  Don’t give up! Press in!  

Remember that “it is not by power, not by might but by God’s spirit…” (Zechariah 4:6) that breakthrough occurs.  HE HAS CALLED US TO PRAY.  

Every Christian has that mantel.  I truly believe we are in the last days and so the battle for souls has become fierce.  We have to remember that we are warriors.  Whether or not you like the fact that we are in the middle of a spiritual battle has little to do with the fact that we are in one.  Press in and BELIEVE and PRAY and bring those that God puts on your heart before Him.

We CANNOT save anyone – that is not our job.  But our job IS to pray.  And the more intense you feel the battle around you the deeper our commitment to prayer needs to be…

Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I instantly go into prayer mode – I start calling out the names of those I know who have not made Jesus their Lord and Savior out before the Lord…

This morning I woke up and felt the need to write.  Writing IS my worship.  That is a sign I have on my office/guest room in the house.  When I went to turn my laptop on – it wouldn’t work… I instantly began to pray, realizing that I had entered into spiritual warfare.  Here is the thing- (and my laptop DID turn on) if it hadn’t, I would have taken my two tools that God has given me – my hands- and I would have grabbed one of my prayer journals and I would have written ANYWAYS.  The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:8-12  “We are hard pressed on every side.”

I feel it – do you?  BUT GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US THAN he THAT IS WITHIN THE WORLD. 1 John 4:4 (I paraphrased it) 

Do you know WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST?  

PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!  

He hears you!  If you are praying for a loved one – know that NO ONE LOVES that person you are interceding for more than HIM!  

Hey – He woke YOU up this morning to pray for people or situations -or whatever He placed on your heart.  He placed it there for a reason.  As I pray – I start out with praise and worship and I THANK God, then I ask for forgiveness of any sins that might be standing in the way of breakthrough, THEN I bring before before His alter whatever it is that is on my spirit.  He wants you to talk with Him – to share with Him.  He knows your thoughts before you even think them – but STILL.  TELL HIM.  

“Father, I come to you today and I lift up _______________.  Father I can’t reach this person – but I know YOU can!  You did it for me and I know you can do it for them!”  Or whatever words Holy Spirit gives you to pray.  

Pray believing God will handle the situation.  Don’t let ol’ slewfoot put fear or doubt for doing so in your mind.  Cover the distractions with the blood of Jesus and press on!  

There are people I have been praying for for 32 years and even if I don’t see the answer to my prayers – it doesn’t MEAN God is not working behind the scenes.  We don’t ALWAYS get to see the results, but it doesn’t mean there aren’t any or that He isn’t doing it!  KEEP BELIEVING.  Keep praying, keep being faithful and keep bringing whatever is on your heart before Him.

 Remember – God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him SHALL NOT PERISH but have everlasting life. (John 3:16).  

Just as my laptop is a tool and method of my worship to God (because I have been called to write) so is our interceding and praying for others.  HE HEARS YOU.  Keep believing!  God is on His throne no matter WHAT it is you see going on around you.  He IS in control.  May God minister to you, encourage you and keep you today and EVERY day!  In Jesus’ precious name – AMEN!
