There will be times in your walk with the Lord where you don’t feel Him, feel like you can’t see Him or Hear Him – don’t despair. HE IS THERE. This is where the rubber hits the road in your faith. This is where you have to push back what you are feeling and believe the truth of God. This is where we pray as in Habakkuk 3:19:
“The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.”
This is where we take the Lord at His Word. Even when we don’t understand the why of the situation, we know the WHO of it. God tells us in His Word, Psalm 46:1:
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”
This is where we remember that we are a spirit that has a soul that lives in a body. God IS with us. He is not a God that He would lie. Our greatest strength is in our faith in the One who holds us in the palms of His hands. Isaiah 41:13 says:
“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.”
Wisdom is knowing who to run to when you are out of strength, when you are out of answers. God is NOT dead; He IS the same today as He was yesterday as He will be tomorrow. We can trust in Him. Wisdom is knowing that you don’t have the answer, but you belong to the One Who IS the answer. Strength is leaning on Him.
Abraham leaned and believed God.
Noah leaned and believed God.
Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego leaned on and believed God.
Esther leaned on and believed God.
David leaned on and believed God.
Mary leaned on and believed God.
The Apostles leaned on and believed God.
These are just naming a few – throughout or Bibles we see countless examples of people who went through tremendous situations that in the eyes of the world, in the “logic” of people they would not be victorious in, BUT GOD. We should be no different. They are written of so that we will have examples, they were REAL people, REAL situations, not fables. They are in the Word of God to teach us how to be and how not to be. They show us that TRUE strength is found in Him. Isaiah 53:1 says:
“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
And Paul wrote about this in 2 Corinthians 12:9-11:
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Let’s go to God when we are out of answers, when we feel weak, when we need our strength restored:
“Father, I thank You for being an ever-present help in time of trouble. I thank You for making my feet like hinds’ feet in high places. When my strength fails me, I choose to lean on you. Forgive me for my sins and wash me with the precious blood of my Savior, Jesus. Help me not to be guided by situations or by my feelings but to keep my eyes focused on You. Restore to me the joy of my salvation and hedge me in with Your Holy Spirit. Go behind me, before me and with me through every situation that comes my way and bless me Father that Your name will receive all the glory, all the honor and all the praise. I thank You for never forsaking me, but for being with me through all life brings my way. YOU are the lifter of my head. I trust You Father, greater is He that is in me than He that is within the world. You have made me the head and NOT the tail. I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. I love You Lord, thank You. Praise Your name. Be glorified. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen.”
There is nothing greater than our God. We can trust Him. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep leaning on the Word of God for your strength and watch Him do a mighty work. He WILL be glorified. He WILL. Proverbs 18:10 says:
“The name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
