A Word from Holy Spirit – It is Time to Flex that Faith Muscle

Last night Holy Spirit gave me a word to share with those who are part of God’s Called Remnant, and are experiencing strong feelings of exhaustion… Like what is described in Psalms 119:28:

“My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!”

Does that describe you?  Hey – I’ll be transparent and admit it includes me too! Recognize and acknowledge how you are feeling! Don’t be ashamed!  God KNOWS your thoughts before you even think them, so denying how you are feeling is part of your problem! You thought the exhaustion was because all that is occurring in your life with regards to the physical realm, but the exhaustion you are feeling is actually of a spiritual nature.  A spiritual exhaustion that is manifesting IN the physical because although you may not have recognized this – you have been waring on your OWN strength instead of relying on the Lord to fight the battles by faith THROUGH you…

The scripture Holy Spirit gave me was one that most of us are extremely familiar with, but the way He whispered into my ear is a way that I had never considered the scripture before.  1 John 4:4:

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Here is the key word that Holy Spirit gave me a revelation about last night:

HE WHO IS IN YOU IS GREATER

We are His vessels.  The dictionary definition is:

“A hollow container, especially one that holds something.”

Holy Spirit takes up residence within us once we have made a profession of faith, we ARE a vessel for Him.  It is NOT us that are greater, it is HE WHO IS IN YOU THAT IS GREATER.  We can do NOTHING in and of ourselves and many times when we face obstacles (or battles), we forget that it is Holy Spirit INSIDE of us that is greater, we try to fight by our own wits, on our own strength – and we wonder why we are tired and heavy laden or beaten down.  Zechariah 4:6 says:

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ saith the Lord of hosts.”

God created man to be in a relationship with Him, to be dependent upon Him and not upon ourselves.  The world does the exact opposite, which is controversial to God’s will for mankind.  In other words:

WE NEED GOD.

I got to thinking about this, and it occurred to me that faith is like working out a spiritual muscle we haven’t used before (or have used very little).  We have to train our thought process to utilize the scriptures and the promises God has given us (it’s really supposed to be our “life’s guide) to train our minds in the way God meant them to be used.  Again I will say, we are NOT reliant upon ourselves, God did not intend for us to be that way.  Just like exercising a physical muscle, we need to exercise our faith.   When we allow Holy Spirit to fight for us, because:

“GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US THAN he THAT IS IN THE WORLD.”

And we get further confirmation of this in Philippians 4:13

“I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.”

It is CHRIST who strengthens us.  We NEED to allow ourselves to be strengthened.  Ephesians 6:10 tells us:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”

Every scripture Holy Spirit directed me to helped me to see that it is Christ IN us that strengthens us, but we have to allow Him the ability to do it.

Think about it, have you ever witnessed a child having a hissy fit on the floor? A temper-tantrum? All of a sudden they are all legs, arms, limbs, thrashing around and it is only when they have worn themselves out that the parent is able to step in.

Some of us have reached the end of our “hissy fit” in battle and are sitting there depleted and exhausted, maybe even “hiccupping” and in the process have gotten nowhere.  There stands our Father, looking at us with compassion and love who is saying:

“Are you ready to let ME step in now?  Are you done with the trying yourself?  Are you finally tired of battling my enemy yourself?  Have I not told you that you are a vessel unto me?  It is MY strength in the vessel of you that will bring forth the victory that My Son has ALREADY won.  Have you realized yet that you can do nothing in and of yourself?  Are you ready for ME to step in?”

2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us:

“But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Isaiah 41:10 tells us:

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

LET GOD UPHOLD YOU.  LET HIM. LISTEN TO THE SCRIPTURES HE HAS GIVEN US TO LEAN UPON.  IT IS TIME TO EXERCISE THAT FAITH MUSCLE AND STOP FIGHTING IN THE NATURAL.

1 Chronicles 16:11 tells us:

“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”

This is where we need to hold on to what our Father is telling us through revelation of His Spirit, hold on to His promises.  Stop letting the enemy sucker punch us – with loved ones, with finances, with our health.

STOP FIGHTING THE BATTLE ON YOUR OWN STRENGTH

Prodigal’s mother or father – Let God deal with that prodigal child.  You can bet He will, it is not for you to address it or handle it – it is for GOD to redirect them.  It is for YOU to turn them over to their heavenly Father who sees their acts of rebellion, disrespect, disobedience and willfulness.  Pray for them and release them back to the One who created them.  Walk IN love and intercede as the prodigal’s father did not run after his child, in order for him to learn all that God needed him to learn, he had to let him go and allow God to teach him what he needed to learn.  The prodigal’s father had to trust that God would redirect him back (that’s what I call “exercising that faith muscle.”).  Sometimes when we interfere in the life of someone being disobedient to parents, disrespectful and rebellious the ingredient of us can mess up the recipe in that person’s life as to what God is doing.  This is where trust, love, walking in forgiveness and believing God for that child is the BEST thing to do.  Believe that as much as YOU love them, they are not at a point where they can receive or believe it – so you must as God gave them to you (through physical birth), you need to give them back to the One who created them and TRUST that God knows what He is doing.

Battling with loved ones who are not saved or who have religious spirits in them? Or perhaps they are baby Christians who regurgitate anything that is not the consistency of anything other than that of milk???  That battle is NOT yours, it is God’s.  The light of Christ shines as a beacon out of those who LOVE Him.  Don’t dim your light because they choose to look at you with disdain – they ARE spiritually BLIND.  They CANNOT understand WHY you are the way you are!  PRAY FOR THEM.  Also, remember that it is one of ol’ slewfoot’s BIGGEST tricks to use those that you love the most to hurt you.  Look at the spirit behind it and don’t war with the person.  Remember that Ephesians 6:12 specifically reminds us that:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

You are not battling with a loved one, you are battling with the spirit BEHIND the person.  You are NOT wrestling with flesh and blood.  You are dealing with a spirit(s).  It could be this person is filled with jealousy, filled with envy, filled with bitterness.  It could be a narcissistic spirit or a spirit of pride  – it could be MANY things and you don’t even KNOW what it is your battling.  The battle is NOT yours, it is the Lord’s.

Maybe it’s your health – what are you speaking over your life? Are you cursing yourself? Pay attention to your words… Genesis shows us how God spoke things into being. What are YOU speaking to being in YOUR life???

Maybe your battle is something that I have not touched upon, it doesn’t matter what it is – God is STILL bigger.  This Word is one that can go towards ANY situation.

LET GOD DO THE FIGHTING, YOU WALK IN ACCORDANCE TO HIS WORD – IN LOVE, WALK IN FORGIVENESS, WALK IN GOD’S WISDOM (*notice I said in HIS wisdom and not in your own…)

We live in a world that is growing darker by the moment, all which points to the fact towards Jesus’ imminent return.  I believe Holy Spirit gave us this Word because He knows we are vessels.  He also knows that we are in our earthly bodies and if we don’t let Him fight for us, it will eventually wear us down and that is NOT walking in the victory that Jesus purchased with His very life for us.  Isaiah 40:29-31 says:

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Walking in wisdom means hearing what Holy Spirit is saying to you. LISTENING. Tune your ear to Him and when you hear Him speak over your individual situation, pay attention.  This Word He has given me, is one that I know is not only for me, but for YOU as well. Let us remember that our strength is not our own, it is His, and He resides IN us. Praise His Holy name and thanks be to God. Let us proclaim as in Psalm 18:1:

” I love you, O Lord, my strength.”
