There will be times in your walk where you will feel discouraged, down and overwhelmed by all that is happening around you. This is where we, as God’s called remnant, need to stand firm in our faith. Remember, we are in the middle of a spiritual war and sometimes it will feel as though the enemy is relentless – he is, but always put in the front and foremost part of your mind that we are in a war with a battle that has ALREADY been won. Jesus has defeated satan.
JESUS IS OUR VICTORY. JESUS HAS WON!
That’s the main thing we have to hold fast to! Through Jesus, we ARE victorious! Sometimes it feels crazy, because our destiny is secure in Christ Jesus, even when we are at our most chaotic moments! That’s when we have to remember that Jesus said to the storm:
“PEACE, BE STILL!”
Are your words saying the same? Or are you battling on your own strength? That may be the reason why you are feeling so much exhaustion… You have been battling the battle in the flesh, instead of in the spirit. Just remember, the outcome has already been determined! The enemy’s BIGGEST weapon is trying to make us forget that! To get up in circumstances and take our eyes OFF of Jesus. You may feel as though you are repeatedly being punched by the enemy, if you feel that way, put your dukes up! Stop taking the beatings! Begin walking in the authority that Christ has given you! Remember, the battle ALWAYS occurs on the battlefield of your mind. The enemy whispers words of defeat into your ear and depending upon what you are battling, you lose ground when you listen and give credence to his words. Remember:
HE IS A LIAR!
We have to choose whose report we are going to believe. Will you stand and believe ALL the promises that God has given you in His Word? If you don’t know what they are – READ YOUR BIBLE! Google God’s promises and verses will come up that will encourage you and then begin to STAND on your promises! Remember to plead the blood of Jesus over EVERY situation that is hindering you or giving you angst.
GOD IS WITH YOU! HE IS AN EVER PRESENT HELP IN TIME OF TROUBLE.
Even right now Jesus is reaching His hand out to you, but you have to take it! Reach your hand out to Him to receive it! He is with you! He loves you! He cares! The Bible says in Psalm 46:1-2:
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Some people walk in accordance to their senses, or in accordance to what they think is “reality” which unless you walk in accordance to the Spirit, it is like living in a mirage. This is one of the biggest tricks of the enemy, because when you live that way you aren’t even aware that you are being deceived by the enemy. You are walking in the natural.
YOU ARE A SPIRIT, THAT HAS A SOUL THAT RESIDES IN A BODY.
Pray that God gives you a discerning spirit, so that Holy Spirit can open your eyes to what is TRULY occurring around you. Pray for wisdom, pray for guidance. There is a great example of what I’m talking about in 2 Kings 6:17 when the prophet, Elisha and his servant faced an army with horses and chariots that surrounded the city. (see below) 2 Kings 6:15-17:
“When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
You see? That is a perfect example of what “God’s reality” REALLY is. Jesus has provided everything we need to stand victorious over every life’s situation, but we have to reach out and grab hold to the victory that He has paid a great price for us to live by.
I am not saying this is always easy, some battles that we face are harder than others. Often the enemy will work through the unsaved to aggravate, annoy as a tool to get our eyes off our Savior and onto the situation. Remember, the enemies tactics are relentless and at times heartless. We CANNOT fight this battle on a fleshly level. Recognize the tactics that the enemy uses and pray with wisdom and discernment and act accordingly. Remember Ephesians 6:12 says:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
You are NOT waring with loved ones or people, you are waring with spiritual principalities and spirits that are BEHIND people. The enemy knows how to get to you, he knows your sore points and he “pokes the bear” in you. Don’t lose focus, recognize his tactics. Bring everything to God in prayer. Even when your feelings try to tell you otherwise – God IS greater than EVERY situation. He is there, He is with you and He will guide you. He is reaching His arm of help, protection, guidance, healing, wisdom, discernment out to you, you only have to extend your arm of faith back to Him and grasp it. There is NOTHING that you encounter that He is not aware of. He IS greater than ANY situation.
BELIEVE
Recognize the tactics of the enemy and stand your ground in Christ. Your purpose in Christ is higher than what you can see. The difference in how you conduct yourself, how you respond to battle moments, the words you use (remember there is power in words so watch what you are declaring over your life is a testimony to your walk in Christ). Your life is a living testimony to those who don’t know Jesus, but know you profess to be a Christian. Some will see the light of Christ IN you, but not be aware of what it IS that makes YOU different. God will give you divine appointments where He may place you in situations as His vessel He will work through you to sprinkle seeds of faith, seeds of love, seeds of forgiveness, seeds of healing or whatever it is that Holy Spirit directs you to do, into the lives of others. We are to be the hands and feet of Christ and that encompasses ALL of our relationships.
What is Holy Spirit speaking to you as you read these words? What is it that He is showing you about where He has you? Where He wants you? Talk with Him, ask Him, it is not a secret, He WILL reveal what His will is for you, you have only to ask.
BE AWARE
I have learned to look at EVERY aspect of my life and to try and remember that my family, my home, my job, my ministry are ALL areas where I need to walk accordingly in Christ. I am not always successful in keeping my eyes on Jesus, but it is when I take my eyes off on Him and onto the situation at hand, that I start to sink in my circumstances – just like Peter in Matthew 14:29-30 began to sink.
“Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” “
You see? Jesus even said to Peter in Matthew 14:31:
“Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
But notice, when Peter got overwhelmed, he called out to Jesus.
ARE YOU AT A POINT WHERE YOU ARE FEELING OVERWHELMED? CALL OUT TO JESUS.
Don’t focus in on your worries, on your circumstances, on your problems, on those that satan uses to poke you and get a rise out of you.
FOCUS ON JESUS
We live in a sinful world that it is getting worse by the moment, Jesus’ return is imminent. The enemy is frantic because he knows his time is short, so if you are feeling the pressure, the pressure IS very real. But God IS greater and as in Psalm 37:23-24:
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.” “
Look – there is reference to His hand again, in fact if you Google “scriptures on the Hand of God” you will be amazed at what comes up… Take hold of Jesus’ hand and don’t let go, because He is with you AND He’s got you. Walk in His victory child of God.
