It’s at the darkest moments in life when we realize how much we really need God…
Sometimes God allows us to get to a point where we find ourselves prostate before Him. Out of answers. Without words. Feeling as though there is nothing we can do. This is the perfect time for a “God Moment.” He IS the great I AM and He CAN. We just have to hold tight to our faith and BELIEVE. And use the weapons of our warfare. See 2 Corinthians 10:4-5:
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We tear down arguments and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Everything we need God has already given to us! Ephesians 6:13 tells us:
“Therefore put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, stand.”
My heart rejoices at that scripture because God is not a Father that He would lie. Standing in the center of His will, in the center of His Word, trusting in HIM (and not in ourselves), RECOGNIZING our need for our Father’s assistance and then standing there in an attitude of praise and in faith means that God is going to show up in the situation.
While the whole world was going crazy around Job – Job STOOD firm in God. While loved ones around him judged him and he even had a wife told them to “Curse God and die.” HE STOOD FIRM in God. See the book of Job 2:9.
You may have unbelievers or even those who are stagnant or babies in their walk with Him who do not understand how you could have the faith in Him that you have. You may be persecuted by those you love most because of Your walk with God. DON’T GIVE UP. DON’T BACK DOWN. STAND FIRM. Your faith and standing firm and INTERCEDING for those who want you to do so MAY be what brings then to Christ (if they are unbelievers) or puts them to shame for not being stronger in their OWN faith. Your life is a living, walking testimony of what God IS doing and can do! Listen, satan is called The Accuser for a reason. In the book of Job 1:6 it says:
“Now the day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord – and satan also arrived among them. The Lord said to satan, “where have you come from?” And satan answered the Lord, “from roving about on the earth, and from walking back and forth across it.” So the Lord said to satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil.”
If ol’ slewfoot can stand before God and accuse Job, you can bet he stands there accusing us. Pointing a finger at us. So, what are YOU going to do? Are you going to “curse God” in the situation you are in or are you going to stand with your back straight and your head held high arms stretched out wide in praise thanking God that “Greater is He that is in you than he that is within the world?” (1 John 4:4) are you going to put on your FULL armor as stated in Ephesians 6:10-18:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in HIS mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…”
Beloved, God allows us to come to a point where we KNOW that we KNOW that we KNOW that we are dependent upon HIM. And that is not a bad thing, that is not a crutch or a weakness as some would have you think (the ones that want you to “curse God and die”) what it is, is WISDOM. And if you walk in the knowledge that God has given you in His Word, the peace that the Bible talks about that “passes all understanding,” (See Philippians 4:6) will engulf you. Why? Because YOU KNOW WHO YOUR FATHER IS.
The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:9-12:
“For we know in part, and we prophesy in part, but when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know, even also as I am fully known.”
satan deceived Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden because “He is the Accuser” – He made them doubt God. In Genesis 3:4 he said to them:
“You will not surely die.”
Ol’ Slewfoot’s tactics have not changed. As he stands before the Father trying to accuse us, he also tries to get us to DOUBT God.
What are you going to do? Are you going to believe the promises God has given you? Or are you going to agree with the one who wants you to doubt your Father?
It is hard when we are in situations where we are scared, frantic, anxious, depressed, discouraged, downtrodden, angry and feeling like we are alone – but here is the thing! WE ARE NOT. We have to choose during these times, WHO WE ARE GOING TO BELIEVE. WHO WE ARE GOING TO TRUST IN.
God says in Isaiah 41:10:
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
and Deuteronomy 31:6:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave or forsake you.”
Talk to God about how you are feeling. Just like you were talking to a dear friend. Tell Him what is on your heart, tell Him what you are struggling with – The Bible says in Psalm 139:1-2
“Lord, you have examined me and know all a bout me. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I even think them.”
So nothing you bring before Him will surprise Him. YOU BE YOU. And God will be there (He is there!) listening, guiding, being there with you through WHATEVER life throws your way. You ONLY have to TRUST Him, BELIEVE His Word (read it) and wave off ALL the other voices telling you to do otherwise and I PROMISE YOU, God will bring you through. How do I know it? Because He has for me – and I continue to have to do the same, EVERY day. TRUST Him… I pray you will.
“Father, I am ever aware for my need of You. My strength comes from YOU. Thank You for being there for me. For guiding me, for “knowing my thoughts before I even think them,” there is NOTHING You cannot handle. Thank You for being the “lifter of my head.” My confidence is not in and of myself – my confidence is in YOU. There is NOTHING in my life that You can’t fix, help or change. I love You Father. Please forgive me for my sins, wash me with the blood of Jesus. Please bless me this day and be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.”
