I accepted Jesus as my Savior 35 years ago! Made Him Lord over my life and as I get ready to celebrate yet another birthday I am thankful for ALL the Lord has brought me through! I can look back to the repertoire of spiritual battles and victories and times of growth He has brought me through to be encouraged as I continue to be an active Warrior and Woman of God for a God I love, worship, cherish and believe in… Especially when times are hard!
Sometimes it feels as if this war is unending – but we know that that is NOT the case! Romans 8:37 tells us:
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
I don’t know what you are waring for is it your marriage? Your unsaved loved ones? Financial concerns? Sickness, illness and disease?
SET YOUR SIGHTS ON JESUS!
Stand firm Woman or Man of God! Stand confident in your victory in Christ Jesus! Romans 8:37 tells us:
“We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
The more determined you are to walk in your calling, walk in your purpose, put Christ first in your life, live for Him, forgive others (who are certainly undeserving of your forgiveness, maybe aren’t even asking you for it) as Christ forgave us, allowing your minds to be transformed by Holy Spirit – the more vicious and intense the attacks of the enemy will become. Don’t give in! Don’t give up! Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS!
I KNOW what it is like to be filled with righteous anger! I KNOW what it feels like to feel like you stand alone in a crowd of people! I KNOW what it is like to be battle weary! But THIS is where we press in! Press in to El Roi! (The God who sees you!)
HE SEES YOU! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
Standing steadfast, unmoving in Him can be hard when the winds of discouragement, disappointment and persecution for your faith blow hard! But YOU have Holy Spirit inside of you! You have God’s Word beside you! You have Jesus’ interceding before the Father, RIGHT NOW standing on YOUR behalf! He NEVER told us it would be easy! In fact, He told us it would be the opposite! BUT we have MANY promises in God’s Word confirming the victory that has ALREADY been won by our Lord and Savior, Jesus! Listen, the Bible is FULL of those who wared in Christ, often standing alone with God! 1 Samuel 30:6 tells us how David encouraged Himself in the Lord:)
“And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul, each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”
Are you greatly distressed? Are you being persecuted for your faith? Is the enemy attacking you? The enemy can come in MANY forms, remember he knows what troubles you most and his goal is to get you derailed and your eyes OFF Jesus. Are you in the middle of a dark moment in your walk – YOU ARE THE LIGHT. Darkness CANNOT abide where Light is! Speaks words of affirmation over yourself, especially if you have no one other than God’s Word affirming you:
Philippians 4:13:
“I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!”
Isaiah 40:31:
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Psalm 23:4:
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
2 Timothy 1:7:
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
These are to name just a few – you can google “encouraging scriptures in the Lord” and find even more! This is WHY David wrote many of the Psalms! Create your OWN mantra with the Word of God! I remember, New Covenant – the non-denominational church I attended as a new Christian had one that went like this (feel free to use it as your personal prayer mantra should you want to):
“This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live – yet not I, but Christ lives by faith in me! I am blessed! I am healed! I have been delivered! I have been set free! Sickness cannot dwell in me! Sin cannot dominate my life! I am MORE than a conquerer because of God’s love! I can do ALL things in Christ Jesus who died for me!”
God has given us His Word (the Bible) for a reason! THAT reason is to help us to live accordingly and to be encouraged! Praise and Worship lifts our spirits so that we can rejoice AND remember that no matter WHAT we go through, no matter WHAT we experience, we have the VICTORY in Christ Jesus. We ONLY have to keep our eyes on Him!
“Father God, I thank you so much that Your Word tells me in 1 John 4:4:
“Greater is He that is in me than he that is within the world.”
Father, help me to hold this close to my heart and to believe and know it as Your truth. Please forgive me for the times I have not fully believe my promises in You. Please strengthen the areas inside of me that need strengthening. I pray that You would bring Your Living Word to mind every time I begin to feel defeated or downcast. I pray that as in Ephesians 6:13-19 (personalized):
Please help me to take up the whole armor of God, that I may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for my feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.
Please help me to remember that as in Zechariah 4:6 (personalized) I do not fight this battle by my own strength but in Yours:
“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”
Father, when the enemy comes up against me in the form of loved ones or in unexpected ways, please give me eyes to see what it is I’m battling and the wisdom to know how to fight in You, that I will stand steadfast and victorious as you are glorified in my response, in my life which I have freely given to You. Help me please, no matter what – to keep my eyes focused on You. I know I can do NOTHING in and of my own accord. Thank You Father, Thank You Jesus, Thank You Holy Spirit for NEVER leaving nor forsaking me and for giving me eyes to see, ears to hear a heart to receive ALL You long for me to know. I decree AND declare I WILL keep my eyes on You. Thank You for this Word, In Jesus’ precious name I pray – AMEN.”
