What’s the BIG Deal? The Purpose?

Although my life purpose is to be a Scribe for the LORD, I am only able to pour out what Holy Spirit chooses to fill me up with, and often I don’t know what it is going to be about until my fingers hit the keyboard.  I type 95 wpm, so I guess you could say I “think” through my fingers. 🙂  My only hope and prayer is that once the words have been written Holy Spirit will send them forth to whoever needs to hear the message. I often wonder who the reader is who is inspired by the post.  I suppose I won’t know the answer to that until my feet are on the other side of the grave and that’s okay.  True fulfillment comes to discovering just what that work is that God created you to fulfill.  If you don’t know what that purpose is – Ask Him! Sometimes it’s right in front of your face and you’ve been doing it for so long that it never occurred to you that that gift has been your calling all along.  Often, we are using that gift unknowingly to serve the world, not the LORD.  But when you TRULY desire to live for Jesus, actually accept Him in your heart as your Savior, make Him LORD OVER your life and begin searching for what He means by keeping you in the center of His will, it’s something that you’ve been doing ALL of your life…

THERE’S NO GREATER JOY THAN WALKING IN THE DESTINY THAT THE CREATOR CREATED YOU TO FULFILL!

I’m not saying it’s easy… It’s not. There is a saying:

“Too much is given, much is required.”

Once you know what it is Holy Spirit wants you to do, and you realize He has given you the tools do it – the responsibility comes with obeying that calling.  You are accountable to walk in that calling.  And let me tell you that the VERY last thing the enemy wants you to do is to allow yourself to be used as a vessel for God. He will throw EVERYTHING he can think of at you!  He will try to keep you distracted, cause one problem after another to sidetrack you.  Remember the battlefield takes place in your mind and he will send his legions to try to make you feel inferior, they will critique you and tell you that you will NEVER measure up.  He will use those that are dearest to your heart to persecute you for your faith, for your purpose – whatever stones he can throw at your confidence he will!  That is why it is important to put on your spiritual armor as mentioned in Ephesians 6:10-18.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

The truth of the matter is God wants you to be HIS vessel.  It’s NOT what YOU do, it’s what you allow Holy Spirit to do THROUGH you. It’s a trust thing too, trusting that God will direct you, guide you, give you divine appointments through which His name can be glorified.  That’s it!

When you of your own free-will choose to accept Jesus as your Savior, allow Him to be LORD OVER your life, you are pretty much saying:

“Jesus, you choose to die on the cross for forgiveness of my sins, You gave YOUR life for me, therefore Jesus I give YOU my life! Have Your way Holy Spirit.  Kingdom of God come, will of God be done.”

Honestly, when I prayed that prayer 36 years ago, I had NO idea the impact.  The change that would occur in my life.  There is true power in what you say.  When I look back at when I first became a believer, I cannot believe all that has occurred – and although it hasn’t been easy (we live in a sinful, fallen world and the rain falls on the just and the unjust), the difference is – God has been with me through it all.  He IS my reason, His Word (the Bible) is true.  God’s promises are true and while you are reading these words, it is something that I cannot find adequate words to explain how God’s promises are. He IS faithful! When He says He will never leave nor forsake you – He does! Being part of God’s Called Remnant, a follower of Christ does NOT mean that life will be without its problems.  Actually, it is the opposite – the angels in Heaven rejoice over the redemption of any person who chooses Christ, but at the same time the devil and his demons become furious, he is a powerful enemy who knows your weaknesses and how to hurt you, but the good news is:

GOD IS GREATER! NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER!  YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS YOU!

THE BATTLE HAS ALREADY BEEN WON BY JESUS! THE VICTORY IS ALREADY OURS THROUGH JESUS DEATH AND RESURRECTION ON THE CROSS!

The greatest peace and satisfaction can ONLY be found in giving your life to Jesus.  It’s something that you can’t realize until you experience it.  And it doesn’t mean that you “all of a sudden have everything figured out.”

LIFE IN CHRIST IS A JOURNEY OF GROWTH AND CHANGE AND TRANSFORMATION WHICH OCCURS AS LONG AS YOU HAVE BREATH IN YOUR BODY

You still make mistakes, sin, screw up – but here is the thing, you repent, and you ask God to help you and grow you DAILY.  He doesn’t “expect” perfection, He only wants your heart.  If you can grow and learn from the mistakes you have made, God will use those mistakes to become messages and ways to extend your right hand behind you and help someone else so that they won’t make the “same” mistakes or so that they will know that God loves them anyhow and they are not the only ones to make mistakes…  And any Christian who tells you they haven’t felt weak, or made mistakes is lying. Holy Spirit is our Teacher; our Guide and He is in the business of restoration. I know that personally. 😉

When we reach the end of our lives I am pretty certain the only thing that will be of importance to us is if we fulfilled our purpose in Christ, for it is truly ONLY what you do for Christ that lasts – for ALL eternity.  It won’t be how many houses you had, how much money you had in your bank account, how many cars you own – when you stand before God the ONLY thing that will matter is if you accepted the gift of salvation that Jesus gave His life for you to accept.  And in doing so, did you fulfill your God giving purpose in Christ?  There is a parable that Jesus taught about the talents, it can be found in Matthew 25:14-30:

“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also, he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’ But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So, take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

If God calls you to do something, He will give you whatever you need to be successful in that calling.  It’s about trusting Him.  It’s about walking BY faith.  It’s about recognizing that we can do NOTHING in or of ourselves, BUT GOD CAN.  If God has revealed to you what it is He has called you to do through this life, it is your responsibility to TRUST that He WILL fulfill His purpose in you!  But you have to act on it.  You have to take whatever steps it is to fulfill that calling.  And when you do, it is AMAZING to see what God will do in and through your life!

NO GREATER JOY!

It is the most wonderful thing in the world to life for Christ.  Sometimes God will even allow you to see the difference it makes in the lives of someone else which makes you rejoice and praise Him ALL the more because you recognize it is TOTALLY God using you!  It is an honor, a privilege and a joy to think that God Almighty wants to use YOU to make an eternal difference in the lives of others.  We only have to be willing for Him to make us able and He will.
