Recently a well-known actor passed away and before he passed, he did an interview and was asked:
“What do you think happens to you after you die?”
And his response was:
“You are gone. You don’t exist anymore. It’s over.”
And my heart cringed because this beautiful man in the deep throws of an illness that was raging over his body had NO hope… Here his spirit and his soul was locked within a body that was failing him (and he was fairly young) and he strongly believed that after his body died, he would vanish into nothingness… I had to turn it off. I couldn’t watch it anymore… Because the master deceiver had convinced this man that there was NOTHING more… And he couldn’t have been more wrong. If I could only have jumped into my television screen and tell Him of God’s love for him, I would have! And it pained me that at the time of seeing the interview (which was to be aired after his death) it was too late… Words I can promise you, you don’t want to hear… For the pain of this life falls short from the pain of experiencing an eternal life WITHOUT the Lover of your soul.
Please listen to me so that you don’t believe the same lie of the devil that he did (and I can ONLY pray that because we have a God Who is merciful and graceful that Holy Spirit somehow, someway reached this man BEFORE He died to show Him the truth… But that is between Him and God)… Please hear me when I say this –
You are a spirit, which has a soul, which lives in a body.
The three parts that make up YOU.
Oh, how I pray that the deception that man believed is NOT a deception you believe. Please hear me for it is the TOTAL reason of John 3:16:
“God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him SHALL NOT perish but have EVERLASTING life.”
I pray those words reverberate inside your soul as you read them. I pray that you BELIEVE in the One Who loved you enough to die for you so that you don’t just “stop existing” as that poor man believed, for NOTHING could be farther from the truth!
The decisions you make in this lifetime determine WHERE you will spend eternity! If you determine to live a physical life WITHOUT God in it. WITHOUT accepting His gift of salvation, God will honor your decision. He has created you with free-will and you CAN use it to decide whether you want Him in your life or not… But the choice you decide to make – is the ONE choice that determines what WILL happen to you once your shell (your body) dies. To make the choice of living a life without God in it is to decide eternally to have an eternal life (your soul and spirit) without God in it as well.
LOVE DOESN’T FORCE YOU TO ACCEPT IT. THE DECISION IS YOURS AND YOURS ALONE.
I write these words because watching the taped interview of this actor (who asked that it be shown after his death) – made me want to cry… To live a life believing there is nothing more than just this fallen world, when the Bible tells otherwise. The shell of us (our physical bodies) does die and return to the earth, but our souls and spirits ARE eternal, and YOU get to determine WHERE you will spend eternity – with God, your Creator OR without Him.
YOU GET TO MAKE THAT DETERMINATION.
If Holy Spirit can reach even ONE person with this post, I will feel grateful that I was able to reach you with the truth. So that you don’t believe the lie of the deceiver thinking that when your body dies – you die. To live a life without Christ is to live a life that has not experienced the depth that the One Who created you INTENDED you to live. For He IS the FULLNESS of life. There is SO much more to living then what MANY are settling for! And for ONLY a little while! The truth is we live in a fallen environment that God did NOT intend us to live! Sin, sickness, illness, disease was NOT to be our portion! It pained me to watch this beautiful man struggling with a disease that was ravishing his muscles, he was trapped inside a body that refused to function anymore to the point where it took every effort for him to speak his thoughts with the interviewer. It was like listening to a soul trapped inside a non-functioning body and he was believing a lie! to hear him declare that this life was all he had, that after this he would be in the state of nothingness – and he really believed that! The interview was set to be seen by the public after his death, which made me wince all the more because if it had been shown PRIOR to his death, I’m quite sure many a Christian would have flooded his mail with messages of life and hope and redemption and grace and forgiveness and most of all LOVE. I pray that Holy Spirit was able to reach him prior to his passing… Because WORSE than living or being diagnosed with a life-threatening disease (I know this personally) is living an ETERNAL life WITHOUT God.
It is no mistake that God, through His grace and love have brought you to read this post… So that your decision, your fate, your current life and your eternal life will be one where you accept His precious gift of redemption and are able to live your BEST life in Him Who has called you by name!
HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH!
There is NO greater joy than experiencing His love NOW – in whatever point of life you are at!
HE IS THE RESTORER OF OUR SOULS! HE IS LOVE PERSONIFIED! HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE!
And He is speaking to your heart even now! He wants you to know that you are NOT alone! That He loves you! That He sees you! That He cares! Revelations 3:20 says:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.”
Don’t wait to test the truth of my words – waiting can be too late. Do it now! It’s not enough for you to read these words, I can’t give you my faith – you have to “taste and see that the LORD is good” for yourself! To see that He IS real and to experience His love! I would write, “what do you have to lose?” But the truth is – those who believe as that actor believed have EVERYTHING to lose! An eternity WITHOUT love, WITHOUT hope, WITHOUT forgiveness, WITHOUT peace, WITHOUT mercy! For all of those things can ONLY be found in God! An eternal life WITHOUT God is one where you would wish your existence DID cease to exist – to no avail!
Please pray with me:
“Father God, Thank You for bringing me to this post. Father, I need You to make Yourself REAL to me. IF You are real (and He is…) Please reveal Yourself to me in a way that only You and I can experience it. I ask You to forgive me for my sins. Come into my life, I choose to accept Jesus as my Savior, I choose to make Him LORD OVER my life. I invite you into my heart THIS day so that I may not only spend eternity with You but live a life of purpose with You starting NOW. Thank You for seeing me, for forgiving me, for loving me – fill me with Your Spirit now, in Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.”
You have now made the most important decision you WILL EVER make on THIS side of eternity. Eternity begins NOW for you, now watch and see what God does – the absolute BEST is YET to come! I promise! 😉
