I’ve been thinking about how they must have felt on the Titanic – knowing the ship had hit an iceberg and was sinking… Desperate, scared, shocked, knowing that the situation they were in was like nothing they’d expected to confront…
When you are in Christ it’s not that you are immune to fear it’s that you don’t trust in yourself. I see all that is going on around me, I acknowledge it, it feels so surreal, and I don’t know what tomorrow will bring BUT I DO know Who it is who holds tomorrow in His hands and I don’t trust in myself – I trust in Him and I cannot adequately explain the peace that comes with knowing I have given my life to Christ and so He is responsible for me. I belong to Him. The peace that passes ALL understanding fills your soul completely when you have TRULY given your life to Him…
The only way I can explain it is like this – children have a childlike faith of trust for their parents (in most circumstances) they think their “mom or dad hung the moon” (figuratively speaking). In a healthy family a child feels loved and protected when their parent is close by. When You taste and see that the LORD is good you experience the SAME thing. When you accept Him as Your Savior and Lord of your life you realize you are His responsibility, you are not your own anymore – you are His. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 49:16:
“He holds us in the palm of His hand”
What better place to be? It also tells us that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf. Remember when Jesus was in the boat with His disciples and a storm broke out and they woke Him up afraid that the storm was going to overtake them? Jesus stood and commanded the storm to stop, saying, “Peace! Be still!!!”
That is what He wants to do in your life right now – but you have to TRUST Him! You have to believe that He is the “stiller of storms.” Whatever is giving you unrest, whatever storm is brewing up inside of you, around you – you simply need to give it to Him…. And in giving it to Him BELIEVE that He can quiet it. He wants you to believe and to trust in Him. If you read Your Word those Words – His promises to you will fill your heart, and when the storms try to rise up in your life His soothing promises will stir up the “peace that passes all understanding” calming you down. You ONLY have to listen… If you do, you WILL hear His voice. Just listen…🙏🙏🙏🙏💕
