Are You Standing Steadfast?

Just because you don’t see what God is doing, does not mean He isn’t doing something. Our walk with Him is a walk of faith, and this often means trusting in Him even though you are not seeing in the earthly realm what it is that God is doing from the Heavenly realm.  There IS a battle going on all around us – this is spoken about in an example we are to learn from see 2 Kings 6:16-17:

“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

From time to time we may feel downcast – hey, even David spoke on this in Psalm 42:5:

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”

The accuser would point a deceiving finger at you and say, “see? where IS your God now!”

Don’t listen to him – don’t listen to the one who hates you and wants you to falter in your faith in God and in His Word.

GOD’S WORD IS TRUTH.  GOD’S WORD IS RELIABLE. GOD IS FAITHFUL.

Sometimes we have to PUSH past our feelings and hold FAST to our faith.  Determine in our minds and in our hearts what our soul already knows – that GOD IS faithful and He is STILL on the throne and we WILL continue to believe.  Believe God, Believe His Word, hold fast to His promises.  We will NOT let go.

He didn’t say we would “always understand” the reason for what we go through, or for what our loved ones would go through – but He DID say that through it ALL He would NEVER leave us.  The thing is, we ALWAYS have free choice.  We have to remain steadfast. Hebrews 10:23 says:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

And in 1 Corinthians 16:13:

“Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.”

And Hebrews 10:23:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

We determine whether we will believe the Word of God and during the most difficult of trials, stand in that faith.  Be honest with God, if you feel defeated – TELL HIM!

“Lord, thank You for this relationship that You paid for with Your life for me to have. I am so grateful… If there be any evil within me, anything displeasing to You, I pray that You would remove it. I desire to be in the complete center of Your will.  Father, my soul is troubled, I am discouraged.  I am downcast, I know You said in John 16:33:

“In this world you will have trouble, but take heart I have overcome the world!”

So Father, I give You what burdens me (AND POUR YOUR HEART AND WHAT TROUBLES YOU OUT TO HIM).  I give it to You because You tell me in Your Word, specifically in Matthew

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart; and you will find rest. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Father, this burden has been more than I know what to do with, but YOU know what to do.  Please restore my peace for I trust in You.  Please make a way even though I don’t see a way – You have called me to walk by faith and not by sight.  Help me to remain steadfast in my faith.  I TRUST YOU. I NEED YOU. I BELIEVE YOU.  I thank You that because I belong to You, that my steps are ordained by You.  Thank You for resolution.  Thank You for provision.  Thank You for healing.  Thank You for intercession.  Thank You for Your blood and that the victory has ALREADY been won.  I love You Father, I trust You.  I praise You.  I release all that burdens me right now into Your capable hands and I REFUSE to pick it up again.  BE GLORIFIED.  In Jesus’ precious name I pray. AMEN.

Don’t allow the accuser to make you feel bad if you don’t feel “joyful” or “happy” all the time – the truth is, NO ONE DOES.  God knows your heart and the Bible tells us in Psalms 139:1-18″

Lord, You have examined me
    and know all about me.
You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know my thoughts before I think them.
You know where I go and where I lie down.
    You know everything I do.
Lord, even before I say a word,
    You already know it.
You are all around me—in front and in back—
and have put Your hand on me.
Your knowledge is amazing to me;
it is more than I can understand.

Where can I go to get away from Your Spirit?
Where can I run from You?
If I go up to the heavens, You are there.
If I lie down in the grave, You are there.
If I rise with the sun in the east
and settle in the west beyond the sea,
even there You would guide me.
With your right hand You would hold me.

I could say, “The darkness will hide me.
Let the light around me turn into night.”
But even the darkness is not dark to You.
    The night is as light as the day;
darkness and light are the same to You.

You made my whole being;
You formed me in my mother’s body.
I praise You because You made me in an amazing and wonderful way.
What You have done is wonderful.
    I know this very well.
You saw my bones being formed
as I took shape in my mother’s body.
When I was put together there,
You saw my body as it was formed.
All the days planned for me
    were written in Your book
before I was one day old.

God, Your thoughts are precious to me.
    They are so many!
If I could count them,
they would be more than all the grains of sand.
When I wake up,
    I am still with You.”

We may not always understand the trials that we face, but we can stand steadfast in the One who sees all. He IS faithful.
