Who IS Your God?

People are NOT in control of your life – this is a mistake we often make, even as Christians. We give people authority and assume they have power over us, when that authority and power should ONLY be given to God. We make people in our minds more powerful than God and THAT is a HUGE mistake. The Bible tells us in

“The steps of the righteous are ordered by God.”

YOUR STEPS ARE ORDERED BY GOD

But if you turn your head and focus on people instead of keeping your eyes steadfast on Him, you are out of order.  It is only in Him that we can experience His good and perfect will, the peace that passes ALL understanding, being able to fulfill our purpose and walk in the calling that God has created to fulfill.

WHO IS YOUR GOD? 

What you trust in shows WHO your God is.  Do you trust in self?  Do you trust in others? How you live is the fruit of what you believe. Your God is NOT your circumstances!  Your God is NOT what people say or do (or don’t do)!  We give people in our lives MORE power than we give God. This is where TRUSTING God comes in!  Not looking at our circumstances but looking BEYOND them to the One Who sits ABOVE it all!

WHO ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

If you have made Jesus your Savior, made Him Lord OVER your life than your life is NO LONGER your own!  It is His!  We can TRUST Him!

In Matthew 16:13-20 it says:

“When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” “

WHO DO YOU SAY HE IS?

If Jesus is Lord OVER your life than He is with you through ALL you go through. He said in Matthew 28:20:

“And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”

People are NOT the “boss” of you – God is.  The only power that people have over you is the power you give them! Isn’t it time you take that authority back and give it to the One to which it TRULY belongs to?  Stop putting people on the throne of your life. Stop giving them the authority that ONLY belongs to God! If you have given your life over to God, your life belongs to Him!

TRUST HIM!

There is NOTHING that our God can’t do!  The Bible is FULL of examples of God doing what people deemed “the impossible.” We need to stop looking at things with our natural eyes and look at them with our spiritual ones!  Exercise that faith muscle!  As you do, your faith will grow stronger.  It’s NOT easy!  But it IS possible to walk by faith and NOT by sight!  It is a DAILY choice that we have to CHOOSE to make! The Father has sent Holy Spirit to us to be our Comforter, our Teacher and our Guide! Let’s pray:

Father, I love You.  Jesus, I love You! Holy Spirit, I love You!  Please forgive me for the times when my faith waivers and I take my eyes OFF of you and place them on my situation. Father, I pray that You would strengthen my faith.  I pray that You would enable me to see You in EVERYTHING around me!  I desire to draw closer to You, to hear Your voice, to have eyes to see You!  A heart to understand and receive ALL that You are telling me so that I can walk in Your ways. Father, bless me today!  Glorify Yourself in this life that I have given over to You!  Fill me with Your presence and Your peace and Your joy! I need You EVERY moment, EVERY minute, EVERY hour, EVERY day of my life.  Let Your good and perfect purpose prevail over my life.  YOU ALONE ARE MY GOD.  Hedge me in and protect me and send forth my ministering angels to go before me so that Your name is glorified in my life!  Help people to see YOU in me and to desire what I have – which is You! I thank You that even now Jesus sits on Your right-hand interceding on my behalf.  Thank You Jesus!  Glorify Yourself Father! In Jesus’ precious name I pray – AMEN!

WHO DO YOU SAY HE IS?

I say He is my EVERYTHING.  The Author and Finisher of my faith – and if you let Him, He will be yours as well. He TRULY will.
