It is true that “beauty is found in the eye of the beholder” my question to you is this:
When you look at your reflection in a mirror, what do YOU see?
You see, it doesn’t MATTER so much how others see you… What matters is YOUR perception. What do YOU see?
Why is it that we can be so graceful and loving of others, but when it comes to ourselves, we can be overly critical? Always striving but never seeing the beauty that God sees in YOU. And He created you!
Let me share a secret with you… I always wanted LONG legs and a tight little butt. (What??? I’m being transparent! LOL!). I am only 4’11 and the older I get, the shorter I am becoming! (Much to my chagrin). But my mom always use to tell me:
“Beautiful things come in small packages.”
It’s ALL in the way you perceive yourself… Unless God blesses me with them “on the other side” I will never have the long legs I have always deemed beautiful. But here is the thing I have learned –
TRUE BEAUTY RADIATES FROM THE INSIDE OUT
Now, I’m not saying don’t take care of your body. Did you know that you are made up of three parts? You have a spirit, a soul (that makes up your personality) and you are housed in a body?
And so I ask you, are you taking care of ALL three parts that make up the whole of you????
Holy Spirit is prompting me to tell you that YOU are a work of art! That YOU are beautiful! God never intended on you comparing yourself to someone else! He made YOU SPECIAL! You are as rare as a fingerprint! The world would try to put you in box. But God NEVER intended you to BE in a box! He intends for you to shine!
One of the things I can tell you about life is that it is a series of lessons… As long as you have breath in your body, you will learn! Your perceptions will change! They will change for either the better OR the worst! YOU get to choose!
There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with self-care. Taking care of your outward appearance which is a vessel unto Holy Spirit. In fact, you SHOULD take care of it! It is a VERY important part of you! But at the SAME time, you shouldn’t neglect the other parts that make up the whole of you.
Here is my beauty secret:
TRUE BEAUTY COMES FROM SPENDING TIME AND HAVING A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ARTIST WHO CREATED YOU! (That’s God!).
Can I tell you that personally experiencing the Father’s love and adoration of you is the ABSOLUTE best makeover you can ever experience????
TRUE BEAUTY COMES FROM THE INWARD EXPERIENCE OF GOD’S LOVE RADIATING FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT DEEP INSIDE OF YOU TO THE OUTSIDE
The Bible tells us in Daniel 12:3:
“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
HOLY SPIRIT TRANSFORM WHAT NEEDS TRANSFORMING ON THE INSIDE OF YOU ONCE YOU ACCEPT HIM INTO YOUR HEART, MAKE JESUS YOUR SAVIOR AND LORD OVER YOUR LIFE.
Holy Spirit brings to your attention what needs changing. He is the BEST makeover you will EVER experience… People will be attracted to you and NOT know the WHY of it! It is NOTHING that you can buy, it is NOTHING that you can obtain without choosing to accept God’s gift of salvation!
2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us:
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 4:16:
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.”
Psalm 34:5 tells us:
“Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.”
Isaiah 62:3:
“You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.”
When you know that you are loved and cherished by the One True God, the One Who created you – you walk in His love and that love that is experienced by the transformation of accepting Him as your Savior, making Him LORD OVER your life radiates from the inside out.
People will see Christ IN you and not realize what it is they are seeing!
True beauty comes from experiencing and knowing God loves you! Read “Song of Songs.”
My beauty secret is experiencing the love of my Savior. KNOWING that I am loved. Experiencing the “peace that passes ALL understanding.”
And the older I get, the more beautiful Holy Spirit has me feeling because I know He is preparing me for my Bridegroom – Jesus. The lessons I learn, the transformations I experience as my desire to grow in Him deepens is something that I would NOT give up for ANYTHING. (Not even for longer legs! 😉 )
It is not something I can “buy” it is a gift that God has given me – I only needed to accept it.
There IS no greater joy that resonates from the inside out than knowing and experiencing God’s love!
All you have to do is believe! Trust! Obey! Walk! And draw nearer to the Artist that created you – Your Heavenly Father…
