The biggest bully of all stands in the background of your life, mocking you, whispering insults and accusations in your ear. His greatest accolade is causing havoc in the most vulnerable areas of your life and making you believe that he doesn’t even exist. He is called the devil or satan and he absolutely and totally hates you. In fact, he wants to take you down. He is the king of all bullies and the Bible refers to him as “the accuser” (see Revelations 12:10).
You can read of the truth of him throughout the Word of God. Isaiah 14:12-15 speaks of him:
So, here is this bully (satan) who the Bible tells us pretty much that he decided that he was going to raise his throne above God’s. (Can you imagine the nerve of that???). Here is someone who God had created thinking he could RISE above His Creator??? (Talk about deception). Have you ever met a person who is a liar and is so good at lying that he even believes his own lies??? Not only did he believe his own lies (that he would be able to accomplish such a feat) but he shared his vision of those lies with other angels around him and they believed him!!! They decided to follow him. Where can you read about this? You can read about it in the Bible (God’s truth – the Word of God) right in Revelations 12:7-11:
“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”
His biggest feat is the fact that according to John 12:40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, or understand with their hearts…” If you are blinded to the fact that he is real, or you do not believe that he is real than his mission with you has been accomplished. To not believe in the devil is to not believe the Bible is the Word of God. To doubt the truth of the Word and ALL that God has done for mankind. In other words, to not believe in the devil is to accuse God of lying – which is EXACTLY what he wants you to do. He HATES God, he HATES you and his intent is for you to NEVER come into the knowledge of the truth of the Word of God. He is the author of deception. In fact 1 Peter 5:8 says:
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
You may be sitting there reading these words and hearing them for the first time, asking “why does he hate me so much?” He hates you so much because GOD LOVES YOU. You were created in the image of God! satan HATES God. Believe it or not, he knows that there is NOTHING God would not do for you. YOU ARE PRECIOUS TO GOD.
“God SO loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
God loves you SO SO much that He left His throne in Heaven to be born of the virgin Mary and come down in the most personable way you can imagine to make it clear THAT HE LOVES YOU.
HEAR ME. GOD LOVES YOU!!!
Now here is the GOOD NEWS. Yes, there is a bully named satan and he has other bullies that like to hang out with him and help him to cause havoc in your life and if you believe the whispers that they whisper into your ear then it has a tremendous affect on your life, how you live, what you believe about others, what you believe about yourself and most importantly what you believe (or don’t believe) about God. But, contrary to the devil’s belief – he IS NOT NOR WAS he EVER greater than God. Nor can he “raise his throne” above the Creator’s. The one who has been most deceived by the devil, is the devil himself!
God is ALL knowing and when satan deceived Eve and Adam in the garden of Eden, God already had a plan in place. And it is through that plan from our ALL KNOWING Father, that the biggest bully of ALL times – the devil, has been DEFEATED. Jesus, triumphed over our enemies (our bullies!). Colossians 2:15 tells us what Jesus did. It says:
“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
Here is more GOOD NEWS – “Greater is He that is in you than he that is within the world.” (1 John 4:4)
How can you defeat life’s biggest bully? The first punch – is to BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD. God doesn’t have you reading these words by mistake – Holy Spirit brought you hear because the ONLY way to defeat the devil is BY THE WORD OF GOD. Holy Spirit is opening up spiritual eyes to the truth of God’s Word. That is the ONLY weapon that will defeat the devil. To be made aware that God’s Word IS TRUE and that the devil and his demons are REAL. But even more than that, to know that there is One who is GREATER than the bully. There is one who is your champion. His name is Jesus. He is Lord of Lord, King of Kings. He IS the way, the truth AND the life. He has come to champion you – but you have to let Him. You MUST receive Him into your life as Lord and Savior. How do you do that? Like this:
“Father God, I thank You so much for loving me SO much that You sent Your beloved Son to die on the cross for forgiveness of my sins. I need a champion in my life – and I now know that the only champion who can defeat this bully, satan – is Jesus. I ask that You would forgive me for my sins and wash me with the precious blood of Jesus. I believe that He was born of the virgin Mary, that He lived and was crucified on the cross for forgiveness of my sins and that He rose from the dead and is now seated at Your right side. Jesus, please champion my life by becoming my Lord and Savior. Thank You Father for making a way. Thank You Lord for opening up my eyes to Your truth. Please guide me, protect me, keep me and be with me all the days of my life. I thank you for defeating the bullies in my life. Thank You Father – the victory IS mine through Jesus. In His precious name I pray. AMEN.”
Jesus, the GREATEST Champion of all times now reigns in your heart. The bully, satan has been defeated – walk in the Truth, read the Bible and grow in the knowledge of the One who loves you most of all. Victory through Him is ours! Praise God! \O/
