Holy Spirit talks to me with a gentle whisper. I woke up in turmoil and immediately knew I have been under spiritual attack, so I put on praise and worship music and began to pray. And this is what I heard, “Why are you so surprised by the tactic the enemy uses? He uses the same tactics over and over again. He is the father of lies, remember? There is no truth in him. And those he uses have no truth in them. But you have my truth in you. STAND IN ME. Listen to ME. As you listen to Me I will strengthen you. Turn your head to ME. Listen to what I have told you already. BELIEVE ME. TRUST ME. WALK IN ME. You are NOT Alone. I was sent to you for such a time as this. You only need to listen… LISTEN.”
Remnant – We live in trying times… More and more I can testify to the truth that we are to walk in His strength because there will be times when we don’t have any left of our own. When we experience this, we need to do as indicated in 2 Corinthians 4:18
“Fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”
Our strength comes from God, He alone is our sustenance, an “ever present help in time of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
When times feel dark, we can trust that God can reach us through the darkness. We are not warring on our own strength. We are not by ourselves. The answer is ALWAYS Jesus. Even if the battle is so intense that the only prayer that you can get to come through your lips is, “Jesus.” Say it again – “Jesus.” Cry it out if you have to, “Jesus.” He is RIGHT THERE. He said He would NEVER leave nor forsake us. Don’t listen to the whispers of the evil one. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Even if there is no person standing right there by you – GOD IS WITH YOU. Hold on to your faith. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:7-10:
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.”
When there is turmoil all around us and we feel attacked on ALL sides we need to remember not to be led by our feelings (and this is HARD) but to be led by our faith. GOD IS IN CONTROL. Even when we feel as though everything around us is out of control, we need to remember who it is we belong to. How do we do this? We bring EVERY thought under submission. This is where the rubber hits the road in our walk of faith. We go against everything we are feeling in the natural and we PRAISE HIM. WE WORSHIP HIM. WE LIFT HIS NAME UP. There truly is power in praise and praise can feel like the very LAST thing you want to do, but we are not led by our feelings remember? We are led by our faith. The spiritual battle can feel thick as fog and in order to rise above it we need to remember WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST. Put on that spiritual armor soldier as in Ephesians 6:10-18
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
It’s not easy and at times it can feel more intense and it’s okay as Paul said to be “perplexed” during those times when you are feeling at your lowest, let God be the lifter of your head. We don’t trust in ourselves, that is the difference between us and the world. We stand victorious not because of “how we feel” but because we know that GOD HAS US. That no matter what we go through in this life, God sees us. Remember, Holy Spirit is also called “The Comforter” let Him enwrap His arms around you. Ol’ slewfoot knows how to get to you – he is the father of lies, remember? So we need to determine whether we are going to “The Comforter” who speaks words of instruction, words of guidance, words of strength, words of encouragement to us through the Word of God, or whether we are going to look at our circumstances and listen to the lies of the evil one who wants us to be led by our feelings, who wants us to believe that God has forsaken us. Who wants to cause doubt and turmoil in the battlefield of our minds. WE CHOOSE.
The victory for this battle in our lives – whatever comes our way has ALREADY been won. It was won at the cross. Jesus defeated satan. We can rejoice and praise God that the battle has ALREADY BEEN WON. The enemy is frantic because he knows his days are short. JESUS IS COMING BACK! He’s coming back Remnant! No matter what you are going through – GOD IS WITH YOU. JESUS IS RETURNING. Praise His Holy Name. GOD IS IN CONTROL, all the time not just some of the time. God is with you, He is strengthening you even as you read these words, He has NOT left you, He has NOT forsaken you. He is with you, He’s not letting go. He is in control. Praise be to the One Who has called us. God IS in control. Rejoice. \0/ \0/ \0/
