Do You Want to Be Healed?

Are you playing the “Blame Game?” Is something keeping you from going forward in your calling?  In the book of Genesis 3:12, Adam blamed God and Eve for his participation in sinning.

“The man said, ‘The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.'”

Eve blamed the snake in Genesis 3:13:

“…The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

The crippled man by the pool in Bethesda blamed no one helping him into the pool while the water stirred (see John 5:1-9):

“Sometime later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.”

What is God saying to you and what is your response? Sometimes we are so caught up in our own “reasoning” as to why we did what we did or why we do what we do that we become stuck in a rut. In order to move forward, we need to make sure that we are CHOOSING to hear what God is saying, instead of speaking over Him.  God may be asking you, “DO YOU WANT TO GET WELL?” or “DO YOU WANT TO MOVE FORWARD?”  Sometimes the answer is right there before us, but we are CHOOSING not to hear it.  We life in a fallen world but through the shed blood of Jesus, we ARE victorious.  Are you walking in the victory Jesus purchased with His blood?  Jesus asked the invalid if he wanted to get well.  He had been stewing in his situation by the pool for a long period of time.  Jesus did not ask him about his circumstances, he asked him if he wanted to get well.  Perhaps Holy Spirit keeps bringing your attention to something that God is asking you? If so, why don’t we pray:

“Father, thank You that the victory that Jesus purchased by His shed blood on the cross is mine to walk in.  Forgive me when I keep my eyes on my circumstances and not upon Your promises.  Forgive me and help me to hear You better.  YES!  I want to be well! Physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially – however I need it! I pray that You would heal within me whatever it is that needs healing.  Even the things that I am unware of and do not know what to ask, I know You are El Rohi (the God that sees me) so whatever needs fixin’ within me, Father I ask for Your help, Your healing, Your assistance.  If there is any evil within me, or anything displeasing to You – please show me, please change me, please help me to address it.  I desire to be in the very center of Your will.  Please rebuke anything that would hold me back.  I thank You for the promises You have given me, help me to walk in them!  Increase my faith!  Thank You for healing Father!  I want to continue going forward in ALL that You have for me in this life.  I love You Father, I love You Lord, I love You Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.”

Our Father wants us to walk in the FULLNESS of Him!  Let’s not make any excuses that hinder our journey.  Let’s determine to do “heart-checks” and evaluations of ourselves and also to make SURE that we continue to be sensitive to what it is Holy Spirit is saying to us so we can walk in the victory Jesus has provided.  Get up and take your mat!  In Jesus’ name.  May God be glorified!
