Having Ears to Hear Holy Spirit And a Heart to Receive…

Throughout the course of your life in Christ, Holy Spirit who Jesus sent to be our Teacher, our Guide, our Instructor is an ever ready presence as you live out your life in Christ.  When you make the choice to accept Jesus into your heart as Savior, choose to make Him Lord OVER your life, Holy Spirit (the 3rd Person of the Trinity) comes in and resides in your heart.  My personal experience with Holy Spirit is that He has a very soft and gentle voice of instruction.

HOLY SPIRIT IS THE VOICE OF INSTRUCTION, HE HELPS US GROW IN CHRIST

I have come to appreciate and love Holy Spirit more and more as I have grown in Christ.  Holy Spirit helps to transform our minds, show us the things that need changing deep in the heart of us.  And it isn’t always easy, in fact spiritual growing pains can be just that – painful.  But intimacy with God is something that we dearly need, and it isn’t always easy to receive instruction to “undo” the thought processes of the world that we have been raised.  In my spiritual life, there has had to be a lot of undoing.  In order to have the mind of Christ, we have to learn submission to what Holy Spirit shows us.

GOD KNOWS CHANGE CAN BE HARD

Allowing Holy Spirit to restructure our thought processes to line up with God’s will for our lives and the way we conduct ourselves is definitely an ongoing learning process for as long as we have breath in our bodies and are open to instruction.  Because God never invades our “free will” there are some lessons that we may have put up walls of resistance and struggle with allowing Him to transform, it can be painful to see ourselves and the areas that not only need transformation so that we can deepen our walk and relationship with God, but also heal wounds we didn’t even know we had.

WHAT CAN YOU THINK OF THAT HOLY SPIRIT IS SHOWING YOU THAT NEEDS TRANSFORMATION OR HEALING?

HOW RECEPTIVE HAVE YOU BEEN BY WHAT HE HAS REVEALED TO YOU?

In true “Kelly fashion” I will make myself transparent in the hopes that it will help you be transparent with yourself, and open to examining the areas of you that Holy Spirit is pointing out to you… Holy Spirit recently showed me that while I wholeheartedly believe God and believe the scriptures, I need to work on trusting Him more.  It is easier for me to trust God and pray affectively (intercede) on behalf of others than it is for me to trust God will answer MY prayers for ME.  (Ouch!)  That Word smarted when Holy Spirit revealed it to me, in fact – it still smarts.  But I know it is something I have to work on deep within myself, examine  why this and how I can work on allowing Holy Spirit to enable me to trust God MORE.  The things that I find are hard to transform within myself are the the things that I just try to “smooth over” and try to go forward without dealing with them.  Let me be the first to tell you, that is something that doesn’t work.  Holy Spirit (time and time again) will bring you back around in life with circumstances that won’t improve until you give that hurtful, painful area your undivided attention…  He wants to transform that part of you for a reason, even if it hasn’t been revealed to you yet just WHAT that reason is… This of course is where “trust and obey” cause there is NO other way to be happy in Jesus than trust and obey…

Listen, God loves us SO much, He sees the full picture of us, we only see in part, when we turn our lives over to Him we DO end up having to “die to ourselves” in fact Galatians 2:20 says:

“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

God knows what is best for us and what it will take in order for “that best” to occur… He knows JUST what it will take for us to grow in Him and to develop and maintain a close “one on one” relationship with Him.  As I said earlier in this post, as long as we are receptive of it, Holy Spirit will continue the ongoing process of transforming our minds, and while it CAN be painful at times, in the end it will be SO worth it!  To have the mind of Christ, that’s the goal and that’s God’s best for EACH one of us.   We don’t know “what that best is” and that’s okay because GOD DOES! So, let’s go forward in Him, there is NO better place to be, truly. πŸ˜‰
