The steps of the righteous are ordered by God… Have you made a confession of faith? Have you accepted Jesus as Savior? Made Him Lord OVER your life? If so, then your steps are ordered by Him – even when things feel out of whack. Are you in a situation where chaos surrounds you? Where have you run out of ideas on how to figure out what to do or how to proceed? It’s okay to feel this way, it shows us that we are not dependent upon ourselves OR people, but we are dependent upon God alone! And He WILL make a way where there is No way! Jesus said in John 16:33:
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
David wrote this in Psalm 23:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of Lord forever.”
Praise God in the midst of all that is happening around you. Praise Him! Even though it may feel as though that is the VERY last thing you feel like doing – open up your mouth and praise Him out loud – there is power in praise and God is greater than ANY situation you can find yourself in. Our victory was won over 2000 years ago by Jesus! When I feel overwhelmed, I recognize the need for God to be with me, to help me through. I recognize my total dependence upon Him (which is a good thing because we were created to BE dependent upon Him and to recognize it is to face the truth that we were created to belong to Him). I pray a prayer like this:
“Father God, I praise, and I thank You for being MY victory, even when I can’t see it, even when I can’t feel it. I know Who I belong to! Thank You Lord that You are greater than my circumstances. Thank You that Your Word tells me – “the number of my days You will fulfill!” Thank You that Your Word tells me that You hold me in the very palms of Your hands. You are the God Who parted the red sea for the Israelites and brought them through to the other side. You are the God Who kept Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego out of the fiery furnace. You kept the mouths of the lions closed when Daniel was thrown into a pit! When Peter was put in prison You answered the prayers of those praying for him and he was released! When Paul and Silas were put into prison and sang praises and worshiped You – You released them from their captors! Father, I praise You because You are the SAME God as You were back then! I worship You because YOU are WORTHY to be praised! Oh Lord, forgive me when I look at the “red sea of life that surrounds me” instead of keeping my eyes focused on the One Who will part that “red sea” as He did in the days of old! Thank you Father that there is NOTHING or NO POWER GREATER than You! Thank You Father that You tell me, “The steps of the righteous are ordered by You!” Thank You Father for forgiving my sins and helping me in ANY area of my life where disbelief exists. Forgive my disbelief! Oh Lord, my heart rejoices in You, my Savior. King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Thank You that You have said that You will NEVER leave nor forsake me! Father, forgive me for the times where I have put my eyes on people and trusted in them instead of recognizing that You often work through people, but You share Your glory with NO PERSON. You ARE the answer to EVERY problem! And so I come before You and I pray that You would lose forth my waring angels and that You would hedge me in by going before me, bedside me and behind me that You would make a way where there has been NO way because YOU ARE the Way, the Truth and the Life. Father, I love You. I love You Jesus, I love You Holy Spirit – You anoint my head with the oil of joy because I know that my cup overflows with Your goodness, Your provision, Your healing, Your blessing. Thank You Father! I ask that You show Yourself mighty to those that see me – that You would break EVERY stronghold that would try to keep me in the mire! I thank You that Your goodness and Your love follows me ALL the days of my life! Thank You for Your forgiveness, for Your faithfulness, for Your love! For Your grace! For Your mercy that covers me. Thank You that You ARE the same today, as You were yesterday as You will be tomorrow. Thank You that You are NO respecter of persons. Thank You that You said You will NEVER leave nor forsake me! So when I am feeling weak, my strength is found in You. Be glorified Father. Show forth Your power and Your might that Your name will be glorified, and ALL will know that Greater IS He that is in ME than He that is within the world! That I can do ALL things through Christ Who strengthens me! In Jesus precious name I pray, AMEN.”
Listen, the devil wants you to feel defeated. He wants you to feel alone. He wants you to think that God has forsaken you. That God doesn’t care!
THAT IS A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL! DON’T YOU BELIEVE IT!
The opposite is true! There is NOTHING that your Heavenly Father will NOT do for you! When the enemy throws accusations and lies to your face start praising God out loud! Start singing words of praise! And WATCH and SEE what your Father does! As He freed Paul and Silas, as He released Peter from his jail cell, as He parted the red sea for the Israelites, HE WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU. There is NOTHING to great for our God! If you are part of God’s called Remnant, He HAS and IS calling you by name! Matthew 18:12 tells us:
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?”
Jesus won’t ever leave those that belong to Him. Matthew 18:13 tells us:
“And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. “
Sometimes we forget that God uses people, but it is STILL God behind those that allow them to use Him for His glory. When you are at a place of dismay, remember ALL that God has brought you through in the past. If He has brought you to a “red sea” moment in your life – He WILL bring you through it! He IS greater and He is God. There is NOTHING to hard for the One Who defeated death on the cross, rose from the dead and even right now at this moment that you are EVEN reading these words, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding on YOUR behalf. Because He sees you, He knows, He loves you and He is THERE. An EVER present help in time of trouble. Praise His Holy Name! He’s GOT you. You are His! \0/ \0/ \0/
