Ol’ Slewfoot would like you to be deceived into thinking that God does not understand. That God does not care… That God can’t possibly understand what you are feeling. Can I tell you that the BIGGEST mistake people make is believing in the father of betrayal himself????
The truth of the matter is that NO ONE can understand betrayal BETTER than God. Let’s really think about this… Out of love God created man in His own image – If you read the book of Genesis, you will be introduced to the first man and woman God created – Adam and Eve. Let’s take a look at God’s love in Genesis 1:27-30:
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.”
Look at the Father’s love! Look at His generosity! Look at His desire to give and provide for Adam and Eve! Look at the desire of God’s will for them:
TO KNOW HIM AND GROW IN HIS LOVE
TO EXPERIENCE HIS LOVE AND LOVE HIM BACK BY THEIR OWN FREE WILL
Everything Adam and Eve needed God gave them! They wanted for NOTHING. They had EVERYTHING. But then entered in the deceiver, ol’ slewfoot who saw how much God loved His creation and because of his hatred of God and his pride and belief that he could rise above his Creator and because satan is the master manipulator he knew the greatest way to hurt God was to try and deceive His creation and unfortunately, he succeeded in putting doubt in the mind of Eve which caused the downfall of man…
Take a look at Genesis 2:9:
“The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
Then Genesis 2:15 tells us:
“The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
You see, God (being a loving God) created man with “free-will” to make decisions, because loving someone is not something that should (or can) be forced. It has to be a decision to love. God wants YOU to decide for yourself whether or not YOU will choose to love Him. We were not programmed like robots to “love God” – we choose. If you choose to live a life void of God and void of loving Him, He allows you to make that choice. Why? Because even if you choose to live a life without God (hence an eternal life based upon your own decision – an eternal life without God) it pains Him deeply. But the choice is one YOU will make and God will allow you to make.
Eve and Adam decided to doubt God and allow satan to deceive them. Take a look at Genesis 3:1:
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.”
The first deception… And ever since that time, the devil (who uses the SAME tricks over and over again) has been working to deceive ALL of mankind from believing in a God Who loves us SO deeply that because God KNEW that Eve and Adam would betray Him, He already had a plan in place to restore mankind to a right relationship with Himself… The God Who created you. The God Who LOVES you left the glories of Heaven, born of the virgin Mary, put on the garments of flesh (Jesus the 2nd Member of the Trinity) and came down to earth to meet you RIGHT here where you are at. He lived a sin-less life taking on the sins of the world upon His own shoulders and died a horrible death on the cross for forgiveness of your sins and mine. Jesus because the sacrificial Lamb of God redeeming ALL Who choose to accept His love to a God Who loves you MORE abundantly than you can EVER imagine… John 3:16 tells us:
“God so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall NOT perish, but have everlasting life.”
Does this sound like a God who shakes His finger at you and is the God of “NO!” Does this sound like a God Who sits WAAAAAAAAAY up high in Heaven far from you and all that you go through? The devil would try (as he did with Adam and Eve) to deceive you and make you think that God doesn’t love you. That God doesn’t care… That God doesn’t exist…. That there are OTHER ways to God. That there are many gods (there is not). Why??? Because satan HATES God. satan (and I choose NOT to capitalize his name) HATES YOU. And he takes no greater pleasure than to deceive you and make you believe that you can live a life without God. And you know what? YOU CAN. Salvation and redemption and restoration is God’s GIFT to YOU. But here is the thing – you have the choice to receive it or not receive it. If you choose not to accept God’s gift of redemption and salvation through accepting Jesus as your Savior, choosing to make Him LORD OVER your life – God sadly accepts your decision. Because Love NEVER forces. satan’s deceptions always come with a grain of truth… He twists things… What he twisted with Adam and Eve is this – we surely do NOT die. Our physical bodies DO die, but we are made up of three parts – Spirit, soul and body. The body dies but your body and soul are eternal. If you choose to live an earthly life rejecting God’s gift of salvation and redemption, God gives you what you want. YOUR CHOICE. An earthly choice to reject God’s gift, is also an eternal choice to eternally exist WITHOUT God. WITHOUT forgiveness. WITHOUT Love – because God IS love. So you see – if you are hurting and experiencing betrayal from someone who has hurt you.
GOD KNOWS WHAT THAT IS LIKE
HE SEES YOUR PAIN AND KNOWS IT PERSONALLY
He desires to draw you close to Him. To allow Him to love you… To allow Him to comfort you… To allow Him to heal your heart… But in order for that to happen you have to let Him. You have to invite Him in… You have to TRUST Him. You have to experience Him. And the way to do that is to talk to Him. Did you know that praying is just having a conversation with God???? That’s what prayer is – conversing with God. If this post is speaking to you, it is because God has brought you to it. He SEES you! He LOVES you! Won’t you let Him??? Isn’t it time that you responded to Jesus knocking on the door of your life? Acts 2:25 tells us:
“David said about him: “’I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ “
Will you believe? Will you pray with me? I believe that everyone who prays this prayer WILL experience God’s presence. Will see how MUCH God loves them. Let’s pray:
“Father God, I want to believe You love me… I want to experience Your love for myself. If You are real and Kelly’s words are accurate – will You please make Yourself real to me? I choose this day to accept You as my Savior. Make You LORD OVER my life. Please Jesus, come into my life. Be my Savior and LORD. I choose YOU. Please forgive me for my sins and wash me with Your precious blood. Touch me Father… Heal me… Help me to feel Your presence and walk in Your love and purpose for my life. Thank You for all You have done, all You are doing and all You WILL do in my life. I ask this in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.”
If you prayed that prayer, I PROMISE you, God WILL reveal Himself to you. There is NOTHING more important to Him than being in a personal relationship with you! Watch and see what He begins to do in your life! I speak as one who knows! Who has experienced God’s love! Who knows that He is REAL and His love is true! I know that the peace that passes ALL understanding will fill you with God’s presence – it is a lifetime thing! The Bible tells us in Luke 15:10:
“ In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
They are having a party in Heaven RIGHT now because YOU have chosen to accept God’s love! His salvation! His redemption! His restoration! He loves you SO much and He IS real! REALER THAN REAL! Now watch and see how God reveals Himself to you! It will be personal (between you and Him), it will be all powerful and you will feel wave upon waves of His love. There is NO greater joy than walking with the Father. It begins now! Watch and see! HE LOVES YOU. And that my friend – is the truth!
