The very last thing the enemy wants is for you to fulfill your destiny in Christ, the reason and the purpose that God created you in your mother’s womb. You were born with gifts, with talents that were meant to glorify the Creator, bless others and in the glorious process of being used by Him, be blessed ourselves because of it. You can’t “out bless” God. I say that from personal experience, once you have made a decision to accept Jesus as Savior, make Him Lord over your life and begun to seek His will over your life and then fulfill it – there is NO greater joy than knowing that you are walking in your purpose.
There is a reason why Holy Spirit brought you to this post, maybe it is because you have never heard about Jesus and how God left the glories of Heaven to come down in the form of man, being born of the virgin Mary, because YOU matter to Him. Because He LOVES you. Because He is a personal God and YOU are a personal matter to Him. How Jesus lived a sinless life and was crucified on the cross for forgiveness of your sins (and mine) to redeem a right relationship for you (and me) with God the Father. How He rose from the dead and is right now seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding on your behalf. He sent the third part of the Trinity, Holy Spirit to guide you, to teach you, to comfort you and to help you develop a deeper relationship with Him so that you can fulfill your destiny in Christ. Maybe Holy Spirit directed you here because you have already made a confession for Christ, but need encouragement – hey, Romans 12:5 12:12 tells us:
“So, in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
You are not alone. Don’t let the enemy convince you that you are in this walk alone, you are not. I won’t lie – it can feel lonely sometimes, but that is only because as in John 15:19:
“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”
You are not alone. You are part of those that God has called – His remnant and He loves you and He has a special purpose for you to fulfill, your job is to discover what it is and seek Him to fulfill it! There are so many talented people in this world, but many who are spiritually blind and whose gifts are wasted because instead of using (unbeknown to them) their God-given talents to glorify and honor God (which is why they were given to them in the first place), for worldly purposes, and only what you do for Christ will last. When you stand before the throne of God, when your life is over – what will He see? What difference will your life have made? The things that concern the world will not matter anymore; they will be insignificant. 1 Corinthians 3:10 addresses believers, but says the following:
“By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.”
When Holy Spirit revealed to me that my calling was to be a scribe for the Lord, I was surprised because writing has been something that I have done throughout my life – it wasn’t something I saw as “a talent” it was just something I did. I guess I had just been waiting for a big “aha” moment when it came to seeking God for my calling. Maybe you are looking too hard? The gifts which God has invested within us are often those things that we don’t even “recognize” as gifts – they are just things “we do.” Or things “we like or feel comfortable doing.” Don’t look too deeply, you may be missing it! God’s words to me as I sought His will for my life, were these exact words:
“Kelly, you are looking too hard, it’s as plain as the nose on your face.”
(I still smile at that, those were God’s words to me, verbatim, imagine, the One who created “my nose” calling it “plain!” LOL! He has the most amazing sense of humor when you get to know Him). And it doesn’t stop there – when God has revealed to you what it is He created you to do, you become responsible for walking in it. You see, God has STILL given you free-will, even when you give your life to Him. It becomes your duty to walk in what God has revealed to you, walk in what you know. You become accountable for being obedient to that calling. Fulfilling that calling is one where souls may get saved. Your delay in fulfilling your calling from Him could be at the detriment of someone’s salvation. There is a higher purpose for your calling, not only because in fulfilling it brings joy, satisfaction, sense of purpose, peace and so much more. In walking in your calling, you become a vessel for Him and there are NO words to describe how wonderful it is to walk in God’s ordained purpose for your life! In being a blessing (in ways we won’t even know until we are on the other side!) WE ARE BLESSED. I have no idea how many people Holy Spirit will direct to this post, or to this blog, but that responsibility is not mine, that is His. My responsibility is to write. To walk IN the calling, the rest is up to Holy Spirit. God says in Isaiah 55:11:
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
We are NOT God. If Holy Spirit only directs ONE person to read all that He has given me to write, it will have made a difference. I pray that souls become saved, brothers and sisters become encouraged through the transparency of my writings, but the truth of the matter is – that is up to God. I am fulfilling my destiny in Him because I am being obedient by walking in what He calls me to do – and that is to write. Your job is to walk in whatever it is God is calling YOU to do. Some days it is harder to walk in my calling than others, some days it feels like drudging forward. I was raised in a state where we experienced winters, snow up to your waist. It is very hard and cumbersome to walk in snow, your steps are measured, and it is harder to walk with snow all around you. Sometimes I have days writing feels like “sludging” through deep snow, exhausting, frustrating but still I am responsible for going forward, praying through it. Honestly, some days I am successful, some days I am not. That is when it is time to pray it through. Push through. Remember that the Bible says in 1 John 4:4:
“Greater is He that is in me than he that is within the world.”
I have to remind myself that I am not to be led by my feelings, but by my faith. I have to PUSH through the drudge. In obedience, I have to pray it forward. I am not dependent upon myself; I am dependent upon God. YOU are dependent upon God.
PUSH THROUGH IT – KEEP GOING FORWARD, EVEN IF IT FEELS CUMBERSOME. EVEN IF YOU FEEL LIKE QUITTING. KEEP GOING IN HIM.
Often when we feel this way, it is because we are about to have a breakthrough… If you are feeling a resistance it is because the enemy doesn’t want you to continue – you are thwarting the plans of the enemy and remember, your mind is the battlefield, the enemy knows that if he can discourage you or distract you, you will get caught up in “feelings” or distractions and lose focus, this is where praying it through and continuing to walk forward in your calling (even when you don’t feel like it) will keep you going in Him. Sometimes the momentum I have in writing is totally Holy Spirit given. Pressing forward.as in Philippians 3:14:
“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Many times, when I press forward in Him, especially when everything IN me wants to stop, I am blessed!
KEEP PRESSING FORWARD. KEEP TRUSTING! KEEP FULFILLING GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE.
I almost didn’t write this post this morning…But someone needed to hear these words, God has a purpose for you to fulfill and He is speaking to you even now. I pray you listen; I pray you find out what that purpose is – someone’s salvation is dependent upon it. You are gift to the world! NOT FOR THE WORLD, but TO the world. God often works through people, and He wants to work through you so that others will know of His love. I pray you heed the calling of Holy Spirit over your life, there is no better joy than walking in your purpose. God’s purpose for you. There is love there, there is healing there, there is peace there. There is No greater joy than fulfilling your destiny in Christ. May you find out just what that purpose is – and fulfill it. I pray you do.
