Last night, my husband and I began to watch an awards show on TV, we thought it would be entertaining as various actors and musicians were nominated by (we still couldn’t figure out who) to receive awards. People that God, when creating them had gifted them with talents that were originally meant to be used for HIS purposes, for HIS glory (as all gifts that God has given us were given for that intent…) We ended up having to shut it off in disgust because what was suppose to be a showcase for talent ended up being a platform of political agenda by the award winners in their speeches – not at ALL what we expected and we shut it off as it left a bad taste in our mouths.
As I contemplated what I had seen, Holy Spirit showed me that our lives are platforms for what we believe and how we live. And so I ask you, what does the platform of you say? (This is a rhetorical question for you to really consider and think about). The Bible tells us in Ephesians 5:15-16 tells us:
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. “
What does your life represent? Your life truly is a HUGE billboard. One day the words you speak, the decisions you made will be one that you stand before God and give an account for. What are you using your life to support? Matthew 12:36-37 tells us:
“I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
The platform of your life either is FOR God OR it is AGAINST God. If the platform of your life does NOT line up with the will of God (which is written in His Word), than you are AGAINST God. The Word of God IS the WILL of God. Are you representing God’s Word? God’s will??? If you are part of God’s Called Remnant (a Born-Again Believer, a follower of Jesus) than you are called to be Christ’s Ambassador. Are you more concerned about being “politically correct” and the approval of your fellow man than standing up for God and His will? The Bible tells us in Romans 14:11-12:
“It is written: “’As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” “
Matthew 12:36 tells us:
“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgement for every empty word they have spoken.”
Your life truly is a platform – what does it say? As I listened to some of the award speakers pushing their agendas that had NOTHING to do with the awards for their talent, I was appalled. I was actually horrified by the words I was hearing come out of their mouths. One day each of those speakers will stand before God and give an account (as we ALL will) for their words and I believe (unless they repent and get saved) they will then feel remorse and regretful as they stand before God and those words are played back for them to see how they allowed the devil to use them as tools for his agenda. And the sad thing about it, is because they are spiritually blinded, they are unaware of the spiritual pawn they have become in a battle they don’t even know is raging around them. 2 Corinthians 4:4 could NOT have been clearer as we watched in disgust the way the platform for the show was used to reach the viewers with views that went against the Word of God.
“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” “
If you knew that one day you were going to stand before God and give an account for EVERY action, EVERY word, Everything you did in this life – would the platform of your life be different? If you profess to be a Christian, a blood bought believer of Christ, part of in this end time His remnant that He is calling forward, how are you living? What are your words saying? Who IS your life representing? Who ARE you living for? What are your views in line with? For whatever the answer to those questions is, shows the bulletin board or platform of your life displayed for ALL to see.
The Bible tells those of us who are part of God’s Called Remnant (followers of Christ) in Acts 20:24:
” However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
It also says in 1 Peter 3:15:
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. “
Sometimes Christians are afraid to step out in what they believe because they are afraid they will be rejected or ostracized for their faith and “un-politically correct” but in not taking a stand, they do not realize that they ARE taking a stand. We have to choose THIS day who the “platform of us” will represent. There is no middle ground. There is NO grey with God. You are either representing God or you are representing the devil. And one day, we WILL give an account of who it is/was we represented with the platform all saw of our lives. Matthew 10:28 says:
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Revelations 3:16 says:
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
This week, I watched the news report on the death of many celebrities this past year, and while we never know the fate of those who have passed, we know that God IS a God of grace. He gives EVERYONE up until their last breath to choose the salvation He graciously provided through Jesus, on the Cross for forgiveness of sins. I never get caught up in conversations of “who might have been saved and who wasn’t” because it is not my business, it is God’s. And God loves people MUCH more than we EVER could. 2nd Peter 3:9 tells us:
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
And then in verse 10-13 it tells us:
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”
What IS the platform of you? Maybe it is time to re-evaluate what it says. If so, the time is now. Holy Spirit gave me a Word yesterday, one that we ALL should consider as we go through our day. Not ONE of us is promised tomorrow (although we act like we are owed it). Many people woke up today, not realizing that this would be their last. Holy Spirit told me:
“We are all ONE breath away from eternity.”
We would do wise to consider that and to re-evaluate what the billboard or platform of us, says before that breath is gone.
“Father God, I thank You for Your Word, I thank You for the gift of salvation. I thank You for Your forgiveness, Your grace and Your mercy. Father, if there is any part of me that has not lined up with the platform of Your Word, I pray forgiveness. I pray that if there is any Evil within me, that You would remove it! That You would change my heart! That the life I have given over to You would be a platform for Holy Spirit to broadcast Your love, Your forgiveness, Your Mercy, Your salvation that was bought at a GREAT price for me! Turn my heart, my mind, my will, my views over to You! May my life be used as a vessel for YOUR will! For YOUR love! For YOUR mercy! May it usher others into the knowledge of salvation so that they too will recognize the error of their ways, and turn to You! May the platform of me not be “about me” but about YOU! May it be the platform of YOU! And may Your good and perfect will go forward in my life and in the lives of ALL those Holy Spirit leads to this post! Be glorified Father! I love You Father! I love You Lord! I love You Holy Spirit! May my life be hidden in YOU! In Jesus’ precious name I pray, AMEN!” \0/ \0/ \0/
