This morning as I prayed about what to write, Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and wanted me to to write today for those that have fallen in their walk with Christ, know they have fallen, don’t know the “why” they allowed themselves to get to the point they are currently at, but feel as though they can’t get up. Can’t walk away from the point they are at in their life, be it they are ashamed and feel that God can’t forgive them. Be it they are living and believing a lie and justifying where they are at. I don’t know who you are, but God does and He wants you to know that He sees you. He wants you to know that He loves you. He wants you to know that His arm is not too short that He can’t reach you where you are at. But you have to reach your hand out to receive His help. Take His hand, let Him help you. The Bible says in 1 John 1:9:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
When Jesus died on the cross for forgiveness of our sins, He took on ALL the sins of the world. YOUR sins AND MINE! If you have professed Jesus as Savior, made Him Lord OVER your life – His arm is NOT too short that He cannot reach you! This Word is for those it is resonating with! You just have to reach out your hand to receive His.
Don’t listen to ol’ slewfoot whispering into your ear that you are too far gone, ESPECIALLY if you are a backsliding Christian! LISTEN, John 10:28 says:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”
NO ONE WILL SNATCH YOU OUT OF JESUS’ HAND!
Let me repeat that! I want you to actually speak those words out!
“NO ONE WILL SNATCH ME OUT OF JESUS’ HAND!”
Someone is reading these words and crying right now, because they feel alone, they feel lost, they feel ashamed, they feel guilty… Listen, God LOVES you so much! I don’t know how or why you allowed yourself to get to the point that you are in – but God knows! Maybe it was unwise decisions! Maybe it was depression or feeling alone! Maybe it was that you were feeling unloved! Or as in my case, when I was at a prodigal time in my walk with the Lord – I fell right into an unexpected trap of the devil, looking for a way of escape! This is what you need to know, 1 Corinthians 10:13 says:
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
Maybe God has brought you to this post as a way out of where you are at… He WILL provide a way out, but you HAVE to be at a point where you are READY to turn back to Him! If you are in a fallen state, this is His way of saying:
“Child of mine, Rise up! Repent! Turn from what you know is wrong! I am willing to redeem you! I love you! I am here! Repent and receive the redemption I bought at a great price for you! I am calling you by name! RISE UP!”
You are not too far gone that God cannot reach you. Psalm 139:8-12 says:
“If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”
If you are someone who is in prison, reading these words, God wants you to know He hasn’t given up on you. He IS the God of turn around! I have brothers and sisters in Christ who were once where you are now and Holy Spirit is with you EVEN now. You are NOT alone. It doesn’t matter what you have done, if you want God’s forgiveness – all you have to do is ask! He has NOT forgotten you! And let me tell you, the brothers and sisters in Christ that committed their lives in jail are being used MIGHTY much now for the kingdom of God! There are testimonies are humbling and awe inspiring! God can and WILL use “your mess” as a message! He does it ALL the time!
HE LOVES YOU EVEN NOW – RIGHT THERE WERE YOU ARE AT!
You just have to cry out to Him. You don’t need another person to confess your sins to in order for you to be forgiven, you can repent and ask God for forgiveness RIGHT here! RIGHT now! Luke 4:18 says:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Bare your heart to the Father, talk to Him as if He were RIGHT there with you, because HE IS! Revelations 3:20 says:
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
Are you someone who is in a relationship with someone you have no business being with? You don’t even know HOW you got to the place that you are at? But you have deceived yourself by believing that that woman or that man is going to leave their wife or their husband to be with you? But deep inside the very core of you, you know the truth – even if you haven’t wanted to face it. And the spirit of ashamedness is one that keeps you from talking to anyone because you feel as if you will be judged, like the Adulteress in the Bible who was going to be stoned for her act of adultery. LISTEN – Jesus sees what you are doing. He knows what you have done. His heart aches for you because you have chosen LESS than what He has for you! Whether or not you are a man in an adulteress relationship OR a woman in it – God has NOT meant you to allow yourself to be treated as a “paper plate” when He has created you to be the “fine china” that He has MADE you to be! This is NOT God’s best for your life! He IS reaching His hand out to you as He did the woman in John 7:53 – 8:11. (You can read her story yourself). Jesus’ heart hurts for you, because you have settled for SO much less than what He intends you to have! Holy Spirit wants you to stop turning a blind eye to your situation. Holy Spirit wants you to face it head on! YOU DESERVE MORE! You need to do as Jesus said to the adulteress woman, and “Go and sin no more!” Repent and ask God to reveal to you WHY you allowed yourself to fall into a situation where you ARE second best. Or why you allowed yourself to step outside your marriage in the first place. It could be a family generational sin that needs to be broken if there is a history of adultery in your family line. It could be you walked straight into a trap from the enemy and instead of taking the way out, deceived yourself to staying by excusing it, but deep inside your heart you know your actions are/have grieved God. He IS willing to forgive you! RISE UP and TAKE HIS HAND! Repent!
Are you someone who is caught up in alcoholism or drugs? Or pornography or some other type of addiction? There are MANY types of things a person can get addicted to! Are you addicted to Play Station? X-Box, computer game? Or some other gaming system that has become a way of escape from life??? Do you depend upon something to give you a “rush” and it is your “go to” place instead of running to God? If you find that something has become excessive, then more than likely it has become an addiction. If so, that need deep in your spirit that was meant to be in union and fellowship with God CANNOT be satiated with ANYTHING else. Addictions continue to make you crave MORE. They are bottomless, there is no end to them. God wants you to turn to Jesus, Holy Spirit wants to placate and fill up that which was meant to be filled up ONLY with Him! God is telling you to take His hand! Let Him fill you up with His love! His comfort! His purpose! His joy! There is NO comparison to what God can do for you, with you and in you! You ONLY need to repent and turn to Him!!! In Him there is unspeakable joy! There is unspeakable love! There is unspeakable peace!!!
Maybe I haven’t listed whatever the sin or fall is in anything above, but here is the thing – God KNOWS what it is. You can’t hide from God, He is omnipotent. He SEES you RIGHT where you are at… And His heart breaks because you ARE His child. There is NO sin too great that Jesus’ did NOT take upon Himself and die on the cross for forgiveness of WHATEVER sin it is you have committed. You may be fooling the people around you, or even fooling yourself! But you are NOT fooling God. He sees what you have done or what it is you are doing. He has brought you to this post for a reason, that reason is that He is extending His hand out to you and asking you to grab hold! To confess your sin to Him! If you haven’t already, to verbally tell Him that “You believe He IS the Savior and you want to turn away from your sins and make Him Lord over your life.” In reading the words of this post, God IS extending His hand to you, He wants to redeem you! All you need to do is to reach your hand out to Him through a prayer of repentance and allow Him to forgive you and He WILL turn your life around! This MAY be the last opportunity you get to repent! Holy Spirit told me this week:
“You Are But ONE Breathe Away From Eternity!”
One breathe! That is ALL! Listen, I was once where you are now! But I came to the end of myself and realized how ashamed I was and that I needed to rededicate my life to the Lord! It was one of those “prostate on my face” before God. I came to the total realization that it was NOTHING other than the grace of God that saved me! Nothing but His love, His forgiveness, His mercy AND His grace! I am even going to go deeper and tell you, that one night, during my prodigal time, Holy Spirit allowed me to have a dream. A terrifying dream – I was in hell. I could see ALL the flames around me. I could feel the intense heat of those flames. But my feet (because I was a believer) were firmly on the rock of Christ. I believe it was God’s way to show me what He had saved me from. To be honest, it scared the “hell” right out of me. I knew I wasn’t right with God, I had turned a blind eye to my sin, knowing ALL the while that I was in a sinful state. God loved me enough to show me just what Jesus’ had delivered me from, but it was STILL my choice! The dream scared me so bad, I asked Jesus to help me repent! I woke up covered with sweat and shaking. The dream was so vivid and real. Many pastors and preachers don’t preach about hell anymore because they are fearful to “offend” people, but Jesus preached about! And if you “google scriptures that talk about hell” you will find them. Hell IS a real place, as written about in Matthew 25:41:
“Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
To not acknowledge hell, not mention it or not write about it would be a disservice, we were NOT meant to go there! It IS the reason God left the glories of Heaven, to come down to earth, Jesus born of the virgin Mary lived a sinless life and died on the cross for forgiveness of OUR sins. That through His death, we would choose to accept Him as our Savior and make Him Lord OVER our life, and enter in to a right relationship with God the Father, keeping us from the penalty of our sins – which would have been hell. Holy Spirit is ministering to your heart right now, and ALL you need to do is commit (or recommit your life) to Jesus – and ask for forgiveness of your sins, repent! And allow Him to be Lord over your life.
GOD IS FAITHFUL TO FORGIVE! YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK!
And when you do repent, turn from whatever the sin is – you will feel renewed! You will feel free! You will feel God’s unbelievable love! And what the enemy meant to be your downfall, God will use to glorify His name, because THAT is the kind of God He is! Please pray with me:
“Father God, I thank You for directing me to this post… Father, I don’t even know why or how I let myself get to the point I am at! I’ve wanted away out but I haven’t known how… Father, I come before you and pray that you would forgive me for _______________________
(LIST WHATEVER THE SIN IS. DON’T LET SHAME OVERTAKE YOU FROM NAMING IT. NAMING IT IS PART OF THE ACT OF REPENTENCE. REMEMBER GOD KNOWS WHAT IT IS ANYWAYS. BUT NAMING IT WILL BRING ABOUT A SENSE OF FREEDOM AND HEALING.)
“Father, I repent. I choose to turn from my sin. Please forgive me and wash me with the precious blood of Jesus. I choose to turn my life to You. Here I am Father, reaching out my hand to take Yours. Thank You for forgiveness. Thank You for mercy, Thank You for Your love. I give my life over to You. Come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. AMEN”
That’s it! That’s all it takes! You ARE a pearl of GREAT price! Don’t let ol’ slewfoot make you doubt the forgiveness God has given you if you have prayed that prayer and repented! Continue to pray to the Father and ask for guidance and for wisdom as you begin to live your new life in Him! There is NO greater joy than knowing that You are accepted, loved, forgiven and cherished by your Heavenly Father. Continue to seek Him and discover through prayer and through the reading of His Word what it is He has in store for you in the life that you have turned over to Him! It is SO much better than ANYTHING you could have planned for yourself! RISE UP NOW! And make it a point every day to reach out your hand to your Father and know that He has GOT you! And He’s NEVER letting go! You ARE His! Your steps ARE ordained by Him! \0/ \0/ \0/
