If you are a child of the Utmost High, I promise you, He is working behind the scenes of your life. Just because you may not see what is happening with your earthly eyes does not mean that God is not in the process of working all things out for your good. The Bible IS the Word of God and God is NOT a God that He would lie. In fact, it is the devil that would have you believe that God is holding out on you, think about it – that is EXACTLY the lie he got Eve to believe. Take a look at Genesis 3:1-7:
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.”
The devil has many names and one of them is “The Accuser” and in the above scripture, he accused God of keeping things from Adam and Eve. Eve and Adam chose to believe the devil over believing God, who had held NOTHING back from them – except what He knew would harm them. So I ask you, who are you trusting? Who are you listening to? What do you believe about God? And what IS that belief based upon? Is it based upon hearsay? Is it based upon a lie? Have you gone before the Father and asked Him to reveal Himself to you? I remember when I was told about God, and I was told what Jesus had done for me to restore a right relationship for me with the Father, that I prayed to Him:
“Lord, if You are real, I need You to reveal Yourself to me… Show me that You are real.”
That request was a heart-filled request. I meant it. And God knew that I meant it – and dear reader, He did, He has, and He does – continuously. Why? Because God created me (and you) with the desire to have us be in a loving relationship with Him – which is the TOTAL opposite to what the devil (your enemy) wants. And the devil will whisper thoughts into your mind, as he did Eve. You just have to choose NOT to accept or listen to Him.
Behind the scenes of your life, even though you may not realize it – God is there! A lot of people have a hard time believing this because of the circumstances of their lives – they blame God… But the truth of the matter is this – Adam and Eve’s fall in Genesis was NOT God’s will for mankind… If you take a look at Genesis 2:5-9 God indicated what would happen IF they ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
HE TOLD THEM!
Take a look:
“When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground – then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.”
Then in Genesis 2:15 He told Adam:
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” “
GOD DID NOT HIDE ANYTHING FROM HIM – HE TOLD HIM. HE INSTRUCTED HIM.
You may be asking:
“Why did He put that tree in there in the first place if they were not supposed to eat of it?”
That’s a really good question – and I believe that God put that tree there because He created us with free will, God did not create us like robots, commanding us to love and choose Him. He created us with free-will. We have the choice to LOVE God and listen to Him, as the loving Father that He is than to believe that (as “the accuser” would have us believe) that God is holding back from us… God is SO loving that He created us with the ability to CHOOSE Him or NOT choose Him. He told Adam AND Eve what would happen if they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. They chose to listen to the “voice of a snake” (And by the way, did you know that God created snakes without vocal cords? Shouldn’t it have been apparent to Eve, that snakes can’t talk???) they listened to the snake (the devil) instead of their Creator, who lovingly and unselfishly had given EVERYTHING else to them and held back ONE thing FOR THEIR BENEFIT AND WELL BEING. And they chose to listen to the devil, and with their decision to go against God’s instruction, sin was born and death (as God had told them it would) was the result.
The bad things that happen in our life are NOT God’s will for us. It was NEVER God’s will for man to die – we were meant to live forever, that is why we are always reaching for MORE. But just like with genetics, we have inherited the sin nature from Adam and Eve. But here is the thing, God who sees EVERYTHING foresaw what would happen, and already had a plan in mind to restore mankind into the ability TO CHOOSE AGAIN to have a right relationship with Him.
THAT IS HOW MUCH GOD LOVES US.
Honestly, how much more personal can it get, than for Father God, the 1st Member of the Trinity, to choose to love us enough to leave the glories of Heaven to come down and meet us RIGHT where we are at????? Jesus, the 2nd Member of the Trinity – was born of the virgin Mary, through the 3rd Member of the Trinity – Holy Spirit, lived a sin-less life and chose to die on the cross for forgiveness of OUR sins, was resurrected from the dead, ascended to Heaven and is EVEN NOW interceding on OUR behalf before the Father? Even now, Holy Spirit is working behind the scenes of your life – whether you know it or not – to bring you to a point (if you haven’t already) where you recognize how very much God loves you and how very much you need God… I can personally attest to that and even if You are already in a relationship with Him, He IS still working behind the scenes of your life – perhaps transforming your mind, maturing and growing your relationship with Him. Showing you the purpose, He has for your life – and I can HONESTLY tell you, God’s purpose for you is fulfilling, it is enjoyable, it is satisfying, it is one that will fill you with such UNSPEAKABLE joy!
DISCOVERING, KNOWING AND WALKING IN GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE IS A LIFE WELL-LIVED.
It is something that I can’t find words to adequately explain – you have to experience it for yourself, and as you draw nearer to God, He WILL draw nearer to you! Remember that God sees your heart! It is His GOOD and Perfect Will for you to walk in His purpose for your life! He WANTS to bless you! He WANTS intimacy with you! But in order for God to give you something, you have to be at a place where you can receive it! That means seeking God! That means choosing God! That means believing that God IS good and that you CAN trust Him! That means silencing the voice of the accuser! Will you choose to do that? Will you choose to love God? Will you choose to STOP blaming God for things he never intended you to experience and go through? Will you take His hand and let Him know that you recognize your dependency on Him? If so, pray this prayer with me:
“Father God, I thank You that You have always had my best interests in mind. Forgive me for my sins, forgive me for the times when I have accused you of things that were not Your choice for me! Forgive me for the times when I have blamed You for the bad that has occurred in my life. I recognize that the world I live in, is not the world You intended for me, when You placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. That You told them what the result would be if they ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and exactly what You told them would happen, happened when they chose to disobey You. Father, this day, I CHOOSE TO LISTEN TO YOU! Please give me eyes to see, ears to hear, a nose to smell Your sweet fragrance and a heart to receive ALL You would have me receive and know. I realize that I live in a sinful, imperfect world, but You have sent Your Son, Who IS perfect to restore a right relationship with me with You, and I CHOOSE to love You. I CHOOSE to make Jesus my Savior; I CHOOSE to make Jesus Lord OVER my life. Please help me to make RIGHT decisions that honor You with this life that I have CHOSEN to give to You. Renew my mind, transform what needs to be transformed and help me to walk in Your good and perfect love. I ask ALL these things in Jesus’ name, and I thank You for hearing me, thank You Holy Spirit for guiding me. Thank You Jesus for saving me. I love You Father, in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
God will begin to reveal His will in Your life and to bless you and keep you in spite of this imperfect world we live in until the very last breath of your body or until Jesus returns. You can trust and believe God. He loves you! He TRULY does – and THAT IS the truth! 🙂
