The Witness of God is All around us. Do you have eyes to see? Ears to hear? Hearts to receive what it is that God is saying to us this day? We are surrounded by so much noise, so we have to make a choice to listen. There is so much around us that causes distraction, so we willingly have to choose what it is (and who it is we will focus upon). Otherwise, we miss it.
God IS speaking to you today – can you hear Him? He is calling out to you – trying to get your attention. Sometimes we have to still ourselves – willfully do so so that we can hear what God is saying. Sometimes God allows situations to occur within our lives that cause us to have to STOP and listen to the voice of the Lord. It is one of the reasons why it has been a little while since I last posted. I can only write when Holy Spirit inspires me to do so, I have to take time to hear from Him. I have given my life to be a vessel unto Him. Father God told me my life’s calling was to write – to glorify His name, but the Words that pour forth from my spirit have to come from Holy Spirit, not worldly words of my own. Without God I have no wisdom to share. Without the Word of God to reflect upon, there are no wiser words than those that you would find in the Living tool He has provided us with – The Bible. Honestly, THAT is where ALL our answers lie. The Bible is to be our guidebook in this life. In this sinful world that we live in. It is food for our souls. If we don’t read and pray and study it, our spirits become malnutrition. I pray you hear my words. I am only a pilgrim on this journey we call life. Writing IS my worship and Jesus not only saved me. Not only IS He my Savior, but He is ALSO Lord OVER my life. I pray that the words of this blog encourage you to make the same decision for yourself. To do as it says in Psalm 34:8:
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
I cannot taste for you. I cannot decide for you. But if you truly want to live out your life in the way God intended you to do when as in Jeremiah 1:5:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
God never intended us to live in a world that was full of sickness, illness, sin or death – and you can read the Book of Genesis yourself to find out what occurred. I have written about Adam and Eve in several of my blog posts that you can refer to – but here is the thing, we do. This was NOT God’s choice for us, but it is where we are at. But with EVERY temptation God DOES provide a way out! You just have to choose to take it.
Listen, so MANY people believe that if they just live life as a “good person” doing the “best they can” that they will make it into Heaven. It is a nice thought, but it is an untruth. You CANNOT be “good enough.” OR “nice enough” you CANNOT earn Heaven. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 64:6 (This is quoted from The New Living Translation version):
“We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind.”
It is the VERY Reason why God sent Jesus to make a way where there has been NO way. John 3:16 clearly tells us:
“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever shall believe in Him, shall NOT perish but have everlasting life.”
In other words:
GOD LOVED US ENOUGH TO CREATE A WAY OF REDEMPTION WHERE THERE WAS NO WAY.
And you are even now reading these words because Holy Spirit led you here to do so. God is giving you an opportunity, if you haven’t already – to repent. To receive the gift of salvation that was bought at SUCH a price for you. We have such a loving God. That is one thing I can definitely attest to – the God that I have accepted into my heart. The salvation that I have received for forgiveness of my sins, has not been because of any “righteous” acts I’ve done. My sins are EVER before me, my mistakes, my faults, my weaknesses – they are EVER before me. But God loved me enough to leave the glories of Heaven, be born of the virgin Mary, who was impregnated by Holy Spirit. Jesus was born – the incarnation of God. Why? Because having a relationship with us IS PERSONAL to God. He PERSONALLY did this to meet us where we are at! If THAT isn’t love, I cannot tell you what love is! Jesus lived a sin-less life. In order to undo ALL that Adam did, He chose to die on the cross, a death He did NOT deserve – to bring us into a RIGHT relationship with God the Father. He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. Those that call on His name WILL BE SAVED. He even right at this moment is seated on the right hand of the Father interceding on our behalf! He IS our Savior! He IS our High Priest! And He WILL return one day to claim those that are still alive and that are His called Remnant! But as you read these Words – RIGHT NOW. TODAY – if you haven’t ALREADY you NEED to make a choice for Him! While you STILL can! He IS calling you! He DIED FOR YOU! He ROSE from the grave FOR YOU to be redeemed. He IS the sacrificial Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world. And HE IS the ONLY Way, Truth and Life!
Becoming a Christian (follower of Christ) does not mean there won’t be hard times, difficult times – but I can tell you that it means that God IS with you. The Bible says in Psalm 37:23
The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.”
As someone who accepted Jesus at the age of 21, it has been 34 years since I began my journey with Him. I would be lying to you if I told you there weren’t moments of stumbling in my walk with the Lord, but throughout it ALL He has been with me. I continue to learn so much in my walk with Him. Honestly, I could not make it through this life without my Savior. Without My Heavenly Father, without Holy Spirit who He sent to live in my heart when I made Him my Savior, Lord over my life. But with every stumble, I have learned a powerful lesson – mostly that it is nothing but His forgiveness, His grace and His mercy that carries me through life. I am totally NOT dependent upon my own strength or means – but on His. We were NOT created to be self-dependent. That is where many fall short. We can truly do NOTHING in and of ourselves that is lasting. Only what we do IN Christ is the legacy that will continue on. And there is NO greater joy than to walk in the purpose you were originally created to do. And it doesn’t matter WHAT age you discover that truth – even if it is later in life. There is no greater sweetness or joy than knowing what I know – which is this, it is found in Acts 17:28:
“For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ “
I cannot write words adequate enough to convey this to you – it is something you have to choose to do on your own accord. But I will tell you this, God loved us enough to create in us free choice. To choose to love and live in Him or to choose to live a life without Him. Whatever choice you make while you are a live, is one that you will have chosen for all eternity. A life on this earth, living, discovering, growing in Him, accepting His gift of eternal salvation. Or a life without Him, living as you see fit, not accepting the gift that was purchased at a tremendous cost by Jesus. And in doing so, deciding to live an eternal life without God.
YOU GET TO CHOOSE. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
People blame God for so many things – but the truth of the matter is, the world that we live in is one that was affected by the choice Eve and Adam made when they chose to disobey God. To eat from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, when God specifically told them (His ONLY rule) not to eat of it. They chose to disobey God. And like genetics – there choice not only affected them, but their offspring – us. (Again, you can read about it in the Book of Genesis). But you see, we can’t point our fingers at them – because God has created a way for us to be redeemed. Redemption ONLY comes through Jesus. There is NO other way! So once again, you are given a choice. To receive God’s gift of salvation or to refuse it. The choice IS yours. Hell was created for the devil and his demons – not for people. God does NOT send ANYONE to hell. We send ourselves by rejecting His salvation. Hell will not be a place of “partying” with your friends, it will be a place of torment. Torment because God IS love. Hell will be a place WITHOUT God. WITHOUT love. It will be a place where you recognize over and over again that you should have received the gift of life that Jesus so unselfishly gave His life for you to receive. I know these words are hard to read, but they are truth!
TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION! WHILE YOU STILL HAVE BREATH IN YOUR LUNGS, A HEART THAT BEATS! CHOOSE LIFE!
I have been there for deathbed salvations – and praise God that He gives everyone up until their last breath to accept Jesus as Savior, Lord over their lives and that is still a wonderful thing…. But my heart hurts for what they miss out on – knowing and growing in Christ while there is still time for them to fulfill their purpose in Him WHILE LIVING! There is NO greater joy than knowing that He walks with you! To see that He is STILL the SAME God of the Bible as He was in the Words, we read on the Living pages! To know that He STILL Heals! That He STILL blesses! That He STILL provides! To discover the things while you walk through life that God wants to reveal to you! To bask in His goodness and forgiveness and mercy and love! I tell you dear reader, there is NO greater joy than knowing that whatever comes your way in life – HE IS WITH YOU! He is HERE! And oh, the love you experience, so much greater than ANY words I could adequately express. To love Him with all you are and to know that you are loved in return. That is what I pray for you, as you read these words. I pray that today would be your day of salvation. If that is, you – and what you want all you have to do is pray this prayer with me.
“Father God, thank You for loving me enough to bring me to these words. I want to do as Kelly did – I want to accept Jesus as my Savior. Jesus, please forgive me for my sins and come into my heart. Be Lord over my life. Holy Spirit you are welcome here. Today I choose You! In Jesus precious name I pray, Amen.”
Simple, isn’t it? But so profound. You won’t know how much that prayer changes your life until you sincerely pray it! I sure didn’t know what it would do in my life. My life became His – and honestly, through good times and in hard, I have come to know that I am totally dependent upon God. He IS my life. He IS the Way, the Truth and the Life. And He IS my greatest joy. I love Him with ALL that I am. Daily He reveals His goodness and mercies and love into my life and into my heart. I so pray this for you. Loving Him and making Him your Savior, Lord OVER your life is the most important decision YOU will ever make. Because it is one that will affect your eternity. Choose God. I pray you do. \0/ \0/ \0/ No greater joy.
