We live in a very fast paced world where multitasking is our way of life. Juggling lots of balls in the air, wearing many different hats and if you are a member of God’s Called Remnant (a follower of Christ) than sometimes you feel more like you are not only juggling a lot of balls, but you have a very real enemy who willfully treats you as if you are in a game of dodge ball and the balls he’s got are aimed AT directly at you with the hopes he can knock you and your faith in God to the ground. And sometimes those hits from him are successful.
Listen, you don’t have to put on a front of strength all the time. God doesn’t expect that from you… It is MORE than okay to tell the Father, your wiped out, exhausted, burnt out, fried – however you want to phase it, because when we come to the end of ourselves, run out of steam or strength, we need to pass the baton of life over to Him. Here’s a newsflash for you:
WE WERE NEVER IN CONTROL OF ANYTHING ANYHOW
THE ONLY STRENGTH THAT CAN BE SUSTAINED IS THAT WHICH IS FOUND IN JESUS
John 15:5 says:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Think about the difference between cut flowers and potted flowers. Cut flowers are flowers that are dead, after a few days they will wither and shrivel up, why? Because there very sustenance has been cut off. A planted flower is grounded and has roots under its soil. It is able to thrive and grow. As a Born Again Believer, our strength does NOT come from ourselves, but from God. When we come to the end of ourselves, we realize that we CANNOT do ANYTHING in and of ourselves, we were created to be dependent on God.
Zechariah 4:6 says:
“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD”
Our walk by faith is one that is just that – FAITH. If you are going through a situation that you see no “light at the end of the tunnel” remember that In John 14:6 Jesus says:
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
In other words:
LET JESUS BE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF YOUR TUNNEL
This is where faith comes in. Joel 3:10 says:
“Let the weak say I am strong.”
Our strength to endure, our strength to push through in our walk with God is just that – WITH GOD. Stop looking to have strength within yourself, admit that in order to BE strong, our strength comes from HIM. Honestly, that is the way it is SUPPOSED to be. Ephesians 6:10-17 tells us to put on our spiritual armor:
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Do you have your armor on? True wisdom comes in realizing that we NEED God. That we NEED Holy Spirit to guide and direct us. That we NEED Jesus to intercede before the Father on our behalf. Hey – we are in a spiritual battle! Jesus has already won the victory, our victory comes from Him! Call upon the name of the Lord when all else fails you. I pray a prayer like this:
“Father, thank You that the victory has already been won by Jesus… Nevertheless I continue to fight the good fight of faith, so I am asking you to forgive me for my sins, forgive me for my short comings – any way that I have missed it. If there be ANY evil within me, or anything that is displeasing to you, I pray that You would remove it. That You would take away my heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh. I pray that You would strengthen me where I am weak. Lord, I CANNOT make it without You. I NEED You EVERY day of my life. Father, You say whatever I bind on earth will be bound in Heaven. You say whatever I loose forth on earth will be loosed in Heaven. I bind satan and his demons when it comes to ________________________________ In Jesus’ name.”
PUT IN THE LINE ABOVE WHATEVER IT IS YOU ARE STRUGGLING WITH.
” I loose forth __________________________________ in Jesus’ name.”
PUT WHATEVER THE NEED IS THAT YOU HAVE IN THE ABOVE LINE
“Father, I am totally dependent upon You, You tell me in Your Word, “you have not because you ask not.” So I am asking, please strengthen me, please help me, I need You. You are my Provider, You are my Father, You are my deliverer, You are my God. I thank You that I can bring all things that trouble me to the foot of the cross, knowing that You hear me. Thank You Father for being an ever present help in time of trouble. Holy Spirit strengthen me, direct me, guide me. I love You Father, I love You Jesus, I love You Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.”
God loves you so much, He cares! You don’t have to struggle on your own, He never meant us to be that way. A personal relationship with God means communication. God wants to know your heart, He wants to know what troubles you, what needs you have, what your heart desires – He is your Father! When you are feeling overwhelmed or discouraged, the BEST place to run is to the One Who holds your very life in His hands! HE LOVES YOU. The strength He gives is SO much better than any strength we could try to muster on our own accord. His strength comes with assurance, comes with forgiveness, comes with love, comes with peace. Jesus said in John 4:13-14:
“Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
Psalm 107:9 says:
“For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.”
Psalm 37:23-24 says:
“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”
If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, made Him Lord OVER your life, your life is not your own – it is His. He’s got you. You are His responsibility, He has become your Shephard, you have become one of His sheep. He will not let you stumble or fall. Your strength comes from Him. As indicated in Psalm 37:23-24 written above, He orders your steps, so you can trust Him! You can go to Him! You can confide in Him! Because your foundation is built on Him, and your strength (the kind that endures) is found ONLY in Him… Now don’t you feel stronger already? God has got you – let Him!
