I feel like Holy Spirit is prompting me to ask you this today:
WHO IS YOUR GOD?
What have you chosen to put on the center throne of your life? Is it worry? Is it problems? Is it money? Is it an addiction? Is it hatred or anger? Or is it something else? What at this very moment is driving you??? Whatever it is that you are focusing on has become the center of your life. And YOU get to determine what that is (or will be).
IS FAITH DRIVING YOU OR IS FEAR?
Are you feeling anxiety over what you are going through in life? Are you in panic mode? Feeling that “fight or flight” adrenaline coursing through your body? Trying to “figure it out on your own” come up with your own solution instead of turning it over to God? If this is where you are at in your current walk with the Lord, I want to encourage you. I want you to LISTEN and to receive these words which I am writing, I think it *may* even be the reason why Holy Spirit has led you to this post. He wants to get your undivided attention, so STOP right now and LISTEN. The Father is saying to you:
Be still and know that I am God. Is there anything too difficult for Me? Have I not said that My name is I AM. Not I WAS. I AM greater than anything you are facing or going through. I AM able. I AM willing, I AM faithful. I AM in control, even when you feel out of control. I AM the same today, as I was Yesterday as I will be tomorrow. I AM the Author and Finisher of your faith. I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
In other words, we get to choose whether we will put our trust and faith in the great “I AM” or if we will deny who God IS and give authority to that which is trying to convince us otherwise (and remember, satan is the father of lies.) What lies are you choosing to believe? Are you believing what the deceiver is trying to make BIGGER than God in your heart and mind? OR will you believe and trust in the One Who IS greater than your situation?
YOUR GOD IS WHO (OR WHATEVER) YOU HAVE CHOOSEN TO PLACE YOUR TRUST
Oh, much loved Remnant, called by God – He LOVES you SO much! No matter what you are facing, if you are part of His Remnant (and I hope you are), there is NOTHING that God cannot overcome in your life! Your steps are ordered by Him! I won’t go into detail on all the things I have faced over the last several months following the deaths of my husband and my mother – but I will TELL you this!
GOD REIGNS!
So, whatever you are encountering, whatever you are experiencing, whatever ol’ slewfoot and his dominions have thrown at you – you keep repeating and believing and standing on the truth of the fact that IF you are a child of God, IF you have accepted God’s gift of salvation by accepting Jesus as your Savior, made Him Lord OVER your life –
YOU BELONG TO HIM!
Did you know that there is NOTHING that satan can do to you unless he has God’s permission to do so? If you don’t believe me, take a look at the book of Job. He had to go before the throne of God and ask permission to act upon Job’s life. Now, don’t get mad at God if you are going through at this moment – God “doesn’t harm us” He allows us to go through things because He is growing us, testing our faith – whatever the devil throws our way, God CAN use for His good. I won’t pretend with you to say I know the answers for ALL the things we have to endure, I’m not God. God IS sovereign. But I DO know that He loves us! That we can trust Him! That He is and has ALWAYS been in control! We can trust the God Who loved us enough to send His only begotten Son to die on the cross for forgiveness of OUR sins. He did this because Jesus is the Passover lamb who takes away the sins of the world! OUR sins put Him on that cross! He was sin-less remember?
My heart swells with love for our Creator Who loves us unselfishly! Who continues to have our best interests at heart. Listen, if you are in a bad place right now in your mind – TRUST God. Give Him a sacrificial time of worship and praise! God’s peace – the peace that passes ALL understanding will flood your heart and soul. There is NO greater joy than allowing Holy Spirit to flood you with God’s peace! Did you know that Jesus IS the Prince of Peace???
I’ve been thinking a lot of how blessed we are to see the full story of all that HAS happened, IS happening and WILL happen in the Bible. The people that we read about in the Old Testament were not able to see it from the full perspective that we can (meaning the Old AND the New Testaments) because He was using His scribes to scribe what we have the precious benefit now of reading! They were under the law! They only had the Torah, the books of the Old Testament and law to go by. We have the full precious benefit in the Word of God in totality (the Old AND the New Testament!) And we are under His grace! And in having the precious ability to read it, we have to decide if we will apply what it is we are reading to our lives, it’s called “the Living Word of God” for a reason! So, I ask you this:
DO YOU TRUST GOD?
I mean, REALLY trust Him… During those times when you don’t see a way out of the situation you are in…. During the times when you get to determine whether you are going to walk by faith OR by sight. You see, we get to choose. Will we trust God through every “Red Sea” we find ourselves standing before? Believe God through EVERY giant that tries to step in and get us to focus on them instead of our promises? For every “Pharoah” that thinks they have the authority and ability to keep us from ALL God has for us????
HOW ARE YOU WALKING? BY FAITH OR BY SIGHT?
When you take your eyes off your circumstances and determine to keep them on God and God alone – mountains move! Why? Because God IS a “mountain mover!”
WE CANNOT DO ANYTHING ON OUR OWN ACCORD – BUT GOD CAN!
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
It wasn’t the stone that David threw that slayed Goliath, it was David’s FAITH that God would use him as His vessel that killed the giant! David’s declaration that the battle IS the Lord’s that brought that giant down! And because God IS the same today as He was yesterday, as He WILL be tomorrow the weapon of our faith is the same as David’s! What giant are you facing in your life???? What weapons are you using in battle? The people in the Bible that we read about are there for a reason! We are to learn from their lives! To apply what we learn about them in the here and now!
This morning, Holy Spirit flooded me with peace, that peace that the Bible says passes ALL understanding! Honestly, if you looked at the valley experience, I have been going through this year, you *might* look at me and think I’ve lost my ever-loving mind! You *might* be astonished that I can still smile and worship God through all I have endured, but here is the thing! I KNOW without a shadow of doubt that my God IS the great “I AM” that He PROMISES me He is WITH me, an ever-present help in times of trouble. That as was the case with Daniel, when he faced the lions –
GOD WAS WITH HIM
That when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego decided NOT to bow down and worship King Nebuchadnezzar and he put them in the fiery furnace –
GOD WAS WITH THEM
That when David stood before Goliath and slung that stone at his head –
GOD WAS WITH HIM
And IF you are a child of the UTMOST GOD, the GREAT I AM –
GOD IS WITH YOU!
How amazing it is to know that if you are part of God’s remnant – called by HIM that YOU are His responsibility!
YOU ARE HIS!
This is where in the midst of even the direst situations, we can still rejoice and praise Him because of our promises in His Word (the Bible). Matthew 10:28 tells us:
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:25-34:
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Psalm 55:22 tells us:
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Jesus tells us in John 16:33:
“”I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” “
Romans 8:34-39 tells us:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So, you see? We get to choose what we will put on the center throne of our lives. Our circumstances OR our God. Ask God for wisdom, ask God for discernment, ask God for guidance, He IS a GOOD, GOOD Father and He will NOT turn His back on you. Holy Spirit lives inside of you and He is the Comforter, the Teacher, your Guide. Jesus sent Him for a reason! I pray that your heart and soul are comforted by the words you have just read and that you choose to give God His RIGHTFUL place on the center throne of your heart and your life, trusting Him in ALL things! Shall we pray?
Father God, I thank You that no matter what my feelings are indicating, I am NOT to be led by my feelings. I am to be led by faith! Forgive me Father for anything that I have put on the throne center seat of my life… Forgive me if I have been led by anxiety, fear, worry, circumstances, I take the authority that You have given me through Jesus and bind those spirits and cast them FAR away from me, in Jesus’ mighty and precious name! I loose forth Your abundant peace for I know that Jesus IS the Prince of Peace, and I REFUSE to allow ANYTHING to take the authority OVER my life that I have already given to Him! I choose to dethrone them right now in Jesus’ precious name! Jesus, I ask that You take the center seat in my life and I recognize that my life is NOT even mine anymore, for I have given it to the One Who gave His life for me! It is Yours! I thank You Father for the victory over EVERY circumstance in my life! I thank You that YOU are the great ‘I AM’ and that You have plans to prosper me and NOT to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future! I pray that Your good and perfect will, WILL prevail in my life! Thank You for the victory, Lord Jesus! Thank You that I can trust You! That MY steps are ordered BY You! I love You Father, I love You Lord, I love You Holy Spirit! Be glorified! In Jesus’ precious name I pray, AMEN!
If you prayed that prayer, I’m sure that you are experiencing the “peace that passes ALL understanding” as Holy Spirit floods your soul. The ONLY One Who is in control of YOUR life is the Giver of life Himself. He has a destiny in Him for you to fulfill! He has given you ALL the gifts and weapons you need to have to fulfill His purpose in your life and as long as you keep Him on the center throne of your heart, of your life NOTHING will keep Him from fulfilling your destiny! NOTHING.
OUR GOD REIGNS
Psalm 121 says:
I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains: From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. Behold, the Protector of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is the shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will guard you from all evil; He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.
Watch and see what God does, how He continues to reveal Himself in your life! It will be part of your testimony (as it has been and is mine), one that you will be able to use as testimony to someone else who needs to hear it. Just as the disciples did! Remember, we are MANY members but one in the body of Christ, and God’s good and perfect plan WILL prevail in your life, because you belong to Him! And the victory through Christ, is ours.
