There is a scripture from Philippians 4:11-13 it says this:
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want, I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
Life can change in a moment… And often it catches us by surprise. I’m not writing this to instill anxiety or fear, but to point out that change is inevitable. It is something we CANNOT stop. It is out of our control, but it is not out of God’s. He is the One stabilizing factor that should we choose to, we can depend on – in both good times and in bad.
We live in a fallen sinful world and the Bible tells us in Matthew 5:45:
“He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
I tell you what I know without a shadow of a doubt:
NO MATTER HOW OUT OF CONTROL WE FEEL – GOD IS ALWAYS IN CONTROL.
OFTEN “THE MATTER” IS THAT WE TURN TO EVERYTHING ELSE INSTEAD OF THE ONLY ONE WHO MATTER’S
AND THAT IS THE ONE WHO TOOK MATTERS INTO THE PALMS OF HIS HANDS (AND HIS FEET) AND MADE A WAY WHERE THERE WAS NO WAY.
HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE.
In the end. He (and what you choose to do with the gift of salvation that He paid EVERYTHING for, is ALL that matters. Not houses, not cars, not how much money you have in the bank, not how many titles you have at the end of your name. He TRULY IS ALL that matters. And the crazy thing is, that when you accept Jesus as Savior, make Him LORD OVER your life, no matter if you have little or much – your focus becomes Him. He becomes the center of your life and once you have done what it says in Psalm 34:8:
“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!”
It’s REAL. He’s REAL and the ONLY way you can understand the truth of my words is to actually allow yourself to ASK Him to make Himself real to you, and I promise you, HE WILL.
In an unstable world that is forever changing, the only UNCHANGING factor is Jesus. He is NOT as some think – “a crutch” He is an ANCHOR. The “peace that passes ALL understanding” is something that once you have become part of God’s “Called Remnant” a follower of Christ, you become awed by the fact that you could be going through the WORST thing in your life, yet you feel His presence because he said, “He would never leave nor forsake you.” And you experience the absolute truths of the Word of God. And the love that you experience is deeper than ANY human love. Something that money CANNOT buy. People CANNOT love in the way God fills your very soul. And the crazy thing about it is that you CANNOT “out love” God. He pours it over you and in you and on you and to know that you are His and He is Yours is the absolute BEST decision you could possibly EVER make.
Isn’t it time you turned to the One Who TRULY matters and let Him show YOU how MUCH YOU matter to Him? Because the REAL matter is that emptiness inside of you that you’ve tried to fill with EVERYTHING other than Him. And in the end, He is the ONLY thing that matters – and that matter is one that will last for ALL eternity. Isn’t it time you decided now? He’s ALL that matters and YOU matter to Him.
