This post is for you if you have declared yourself to be a Christian. The dictionary defines the word “Christian” like this:
“A person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Christianity.”
It also says, “relating to or professing Christianity or its teaching.”
and in Google it says, “a person who believes in Jesus Christ and follows His teachings.”
How are you living? Are you living in the manner of what it is you are confessing and believing? This is a rhetorical question to get you thinking because, when the rubber hits the road in life the reality of who you are and what you believe comes out.
Who do YOU cry out to when you are hard pressed? Do you yell and shake your fist at the sky? Do you frantically look around filled with fear and anxiety or do you drop to your knees and bow your head and cry out, “Abba Father?!!!!”
What is the fragrance of you? Do you trust in “logic” to get you through life? The definition of logic in the Bible is this:
“reasoning conducted or assessed according to strict principles of validity.” or “logic is a science that studies the principles of correct reasoning. An example of logic is deducing that two truths imply a third truth.”
What is valid to you? What IS the essence of you? As a Christian, the Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:7
“We are to walk by faith, not by sight.”
It tells us in Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who come to Him MUST believe that He exits and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
To most people, faith is not “logical” the Pharisees in the old testament wanted Jesus to prove to them Who He said He was. Jesus’ “logic” was not the same “logic” of the Pharisees. Can you imagine telling the One who was there in the beginning of the world that He needed to be logical? John 1:1 says:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
The creation truly has no business telling the Creator “what is logical” everything we need to know God has given us in His living Word – the Bible. The Bible is “God’s logic.” 2 Timothy 3:16 says:
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for all good works.”
So I ask you again, HOW ARE YOU LIVING? WHAT ARE YOU BELIEVING? WHO ARE YOU TRUSTING IN?
I don’t write this in a judgmental tone – I write this to get you thinking about the life of you. When we are hard pressed by life we go running. Who do you go running to? What is your belief system? Jesus told many stories that are to be used as examples. One of them can be found in Matthew 7:24-27:
“Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine, and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. The rains came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell – and great was its fall.”
Maybe not right at this moment in your life, but at some point in your life – be it when you get to be elderly or even if you get to a place where you are feeling “hard pressed” you will stand upon a foundation of whatever it is you believe. It will either be rock or sand… My writing this is to get you thinking in the NOW. If you have made Jesus Christ Lord over your life and believe Him to be your Savior, He has work for you to do! There is a calling on your life! Holy Spirit whispered into my ear recently that He has called us in the name of Jesus to raise the dead to life! To open blind eyes! To make the deaf hear! Now I DO believe that God can use us to do that figuratively – but in this case, what Holy Spirit was saying to me, is that God is concerned with saving souls! How do we raise the dead? We bring those that are SPIRITUALLY DEAD into the knowledge of the Giver of Life! We tell them the TRUTH. We show them THE WAY! Jesus said in John 14:6:
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
and also in Mark 8:34-38:
“Then He called the crowd to Him along with His disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
How do we open up the ears of the deaf? In this instance, Holy Spirit was speaking to me of those who are SPIRITUALLY DEAF. They have not or do not know the Word of God. MAY EARS OPEN UP THAT THEY MAY HEAR THE TRUTH OF THE WORD OF GOD. We are to intercede and pray that God will open up THE EYES OF THOSE THAT ARE SPIRITUALLY BLIND. How do we do that? We have no strength in and of ourselves – we DIRECT them to the ONE Who is OUR strength. We lead them to the Rock who is higher than us! We live and move and have our being in HIM. And here is the beauty of that – our role is NOT to save, we can’t do that. Our role is to direct them to the One that does!
Here is an example: When I became saved, accepted Jesus Christ into my heart to be my Lord and Savior, I began seeking Him as to what His will was for my life. Once He revealed it to me that He has called me to write, my responsibility was to walk in the calling He has for my life. THAT is MY responsibility. I am responsible for what God has told me to do. I have free will so I can either obey it or not obey it… Because I want to be in the center of His will, I choose to obey it. Writing IS my worship. Now, once I prayerfully write something, the responsibility of what happens to those writings is no longer mine. It is the responsibility of Holy Spirit to take those written words and use them HOWEVER God sees fit. To the glory of God. Hopefully those words are seeds of my faith, they are seeds of God’s truth (His Word) and wherever Holy Spirit takes them, my prayer is that they will fall on good soil. That as you read these words God has given me, that they will be planted in good soil within the depth of you and you will draw from them whatever sustenance God wants you to have. That you will develop a love and a faith for the One who brought those words to you through the vessel of me. I am ONLY a vessel. My responsibility is done with my obedience to what God has called me to do. What is my role after that? TO INTERCEDE. TO PRAY. TO PRAY THAT DEAF EARS WILL HEAR (THE WORD OF GOD) BLIND EYES WILL SEE (COME TO KNOW JESUS), THE DEAD WILL RISE (IN CHRIST). From their I pray that God will bring others who have their OWN calling in Him to water those seeds so that God through His Spirit will have them grow and flourish and YOU will mature to a point where you can seek God for HIS will and HIS calling on your life and use whatever gifts He has given YOU to do the same.
I pray that it will be so. I pray that your life is hidden deep within Him. That you stand UPON the Rock that is Jesus. That you set Him as Your foundation, because all around you in this world – foundations are crumbling. I work at a mental health hospital – let me tell you, IF YOUR FAITH or if what you depend on is logic and that of which is NOT built upon the Word of GOD, you will reach a point where it WILL crumble and fall. It will. Oh yes! Only what you do in Christ will last. I pray your logic will be found in the Word of God.
“Father, thank You that You are the same today as you were yesterday as You will be tomorrow. I pray that each eye that sees, each ear that reads these words will open and hear Your truth. I pray that souls WILL be saved and that the spiritually dead WILL rise. I know You will be glorified because my words are founded in YOUR Word. I stand upon the Rock of Jesus. My foundation is SET in YOU. I pray it will be the same in all You bring to my blog and all who read these words. Please bless the person reading this. Be glorified in their lives. I know and trust You will. In Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.”
