Are You Hokey-Pokeying it with God?

Do you remember the “Hokey Pokey” song we use to do as kids?

“You put your left foot in, you put your left foot out, you put your left foot in, and you shake it all about… You do the hokey pokey, and you turn yourself around that’s what it’s all about!” 

If you are a part of God’s Called Remnant, you have to determine to be “all in.” The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1:

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

There are times in our walk with Him when we encounter “can’t-see-two-feet-in-front-of-us” situations, but that is okay – because we aren’t to trust in ourselves; we are to trust in HIM.  You have to determine who’s report it is that you are going to believe.  God is calling us to go deeper in our faith.  Are you willing? You have to decide.  Are you going to believe as the world believes or are you going to believe as the Bible indicates you should?

Look at the examples which are plentiful in the Word of God.  Time and time again we are shown how trustworthy our God is.  Yet still the choice is ours.  What level is your faith?  Do you only believe what your eyes see?  What your feelings feel?  Or do you believe in a God who can do MORE than what you can immeasurably imagine?  As you read these words, what is it that Holy Spirit is speaking to you?  LISTEN.  God has given you NO reason to distrust Him.  He is NOT a person that He should lie. Circumstances do not dictate what God is able to do.  He is not confined to a box.  The Bible tells us in Ephesians 3:20:

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”

When doubts creep into your mind, recognize where they come from, ol’ slewfoot uses the same tricks over and over and over again to try and trip us up.  Lately the word “steadfast” has been appearing in my spirit over and over again.  GOD IS STEADFASTHebrews 10:23:

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

God IS faithful.  He wants us to trust Him. Great IS His faithfulness which has been shown to us not only through God’s Word but if you look at your own walk in Him, look back on it – He has already shown you what He is able to do. Know your Word.  The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15:

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

God desires ALL of you, not a “part of you.” Think about it, how would you feel if you loved someone, and they were only willing to commit to you half-heartedly? Would that be acceptable to you? 

“Oh, I’m sorry, I can only see you for an hour or so on Sunday mornings. I’m busy all the rest of the week…”

God came down the earth in the form of man (Jesus), leaving ALL the glories and comforts of Heaven to meet YOU where you are at.  (Or maybe I should say – where YOU are at). He loves you SO much that He died a horrible and painful death on the cross for sins that He didn’t even commit!  He died for YOUR sins… He died for MINEWILLINGLY.  He rose from the dead and is even right now, seated at the right hand of the Father interceding on behalf of YOU.  That sounds to me as if He is ALL in.  He’s not “hokey pokeying” it around.  He’s serious and committed in His love for you.  Don’t you think you should be all in for Him???

I pray you won’t reject a gift that is the most important gift, most important decision and most rewarding one – you will ever accept or make.  There is no greater love than the love God has for you.  It’s not a game, it’s a matter of life (eternal) or death (hell). There is NO greater joy or fulfilling experience that being totally sold out for God.  There really are no adequate words to describe it, it’s something you have to experience for yourself.  And once you do, you’ll find you’re going to react like Peter in John 13:9:

“Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”

Totally immersion in Him.  No greater decision to make, no better place to be. No Hokey Pokeying around. All of Him for all of you. THAT’S God’s good and perfect will… Jump on in (both feet) and see.  😉
