Remember Who You Are – Who You Belong to – And Keep Your Eyes on Jesus

I have an embroidered saying hung up on one of the walls in my home, the saying says:

“Live in such a way that if anyone should speak badly of you, no one would believe it.”

If you are called by God, part of His remnant, then your focus should be living for Him. Romans 12:2 says:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

If you are ever conscious of Who it is you live for, that your life is not your own – it is His because if you have made a profession of faith, accepted Jesus as Savior, made Him Lord OVER your life – your life is not your own, it is His. One of my favorite verses is Galatians 2:20, this is what it says:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Listen, we are an imperfect people, the only perfect person that ever lived, was Jesus.  Jesus knew before He ascended to Heaven after the crucifixion that we would need a Teacher, a Comforter, a Guide and so He indicated the following in John 14:26:

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. “

Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, if you want to see more about the Trinity click on the link to my home page below, just remember to scroll down to the bottom of the page:

Description on the Trinity

We live in a world that unless you keep your eyes focused on Jesus, you can get swept up and redirected by circumstances, attitudes and situations that are unsettling and meant to throw you off course.  If you continuously keep your eyes on Jesus, on His Word, on the way you are to live and treat others than you will not be swayed by anything that comes your way.  This means holding God’s promises close to your heart and the only way you can do that is by knowing what those promises are.  We do this by reading His Word (the Bible).  It is our GPS for life.  We do this also by praying and asking God through Holy Spirit to speak with us, to guide us, to keep us, to change us into what is pleasing to Him.  Listen, sometimes we are our OWN worst critic!  We are ALL works in progress, and as long as we have breath in our bodies and are open to the leading of Holy Spirit – we WILL grow in Him!  That includes making mistakes while we learn! It’s all about conversing through prayer with the Father.  Checking ourselves, allowing Holy Spirit to transform our minds!  It is a growth process and growth takes time.  God knows this.  It is also a trust process, do you trust the Father to do a good work through you?  I can attest that He truly does take our “messes” and turn them into “messages.”  (You’re reading one example of it now! πŸ˜‰ ).

Keep your eyes focused on God and not on imperfect people.  So often people disappoint or hurt us and we turn from God.  That’s the plan of the enemy, he seeks division, he is the father of lies.  He would like NOTHING better than for you to allow roots of bitterness, discord and anger to take root deep in the heart of you, but God would say to you:

“My child, eyes on me!  I have not called you to look to the left or to the right!  Listen to MY voice, follow MY Word, seek ME.  I alone am the Way, the Truth and the Life.  I alone have called you by name!  Child you are MINE!  Do not allow the worries of this world to dishearten you, I am the Author and the Finisher of your faith.  Look to me alone and I will direct your path.  Trust in me! Take your eyes off your circumstances and without wavering, keep them on Me, for I am the One Who directs your path, I am your solid rock to stand upon.  I am the lifter of your head.  I will NOT fail nor forsake you.  You can trust in ME.”

It’s not important what people think – it is important what GOD thinks.  If you become more concerned with what God thinks than people, then it doesn’t matter what people say about you.  It matters what God thinks.  At the end of our lives, we will stand before Him and give an account for our actions.  No one will be standing there with you; it will be between only you and God.  How are you living? Are you living for yourself or are your eyes on Jesus?  How are you treating others?  Are you walking in forgiveness and love as Jesus walked?  Are you deeming others better than yourself?  Are you more concerned with the worries of this world than how God has called you to live and move and have your being?  Acts 17:28 says:

“For in Him we live and move and have our being.”

We need to remember who we are and Who we belong to… We need to remember that Holy Spirit *may* use us in the lives of those who have never known or don’t know Jesus.  You MAY be the only representative of Christ that someone has seen.  YES we are imperfect, but EVERY day we are being perfected in our walk with Him.  Our main concern should be who we are in Christ.  Our eyes on Him so that He can continue to guide us, grow us and instruct us, all the days of our lives. For we live in Jesus’ name, and we are to be representatives of Him who has called us. Eyes on Jesus, standing steadfast in Him. Pray with me:

“Father God, I thank You for opening up my eyes to see, ears to hear, heart to receive ALL you would have me know.  My greatest desire is to live a purposeful life in You.  Please forgive me for the ways that I have failed You.  Forgive me for my sins and wash me with the precious blood of Jesus.  Help me to be mindful of Holy Spirit.  Help me to be open to the transforming of my mind as You grow me in Christ.  Father, please help me to keep my eyes on You and not on situations, people or problems. Help me to remain steadfast in You, knowing that You never change and are the same today as You were yesterday as You will be tomorrow.  Thank You Father for keeping me in the center of Your will and keeping me in Your perfect peace as I continue to live for You.  In Jesus precious name I pray – Amen.”

It doesn’t matter what people think – it matters what God thinks, keep your eyes on Him and He WILL take care of the rest. Our trust is in Him. πŸ˜‰
