Same Tricks, Different Day

It is important to remember to stay covered in prayer, Ol’ Slewfoot and his dominions hate you and will hit you with everything they have in their arsenal to bring you down, and sometimes they get desperate enough (once they’ve tried everything they can) to  circle back and try the same methods that they have tried to use on you in the past, again.  It is important to keep in the forefront of our minds that we are in a spiritual war, we have to be girded up in our spiritual armor.  We have to be prepared – ALL THE TIME.  Remember Ephesians 6:13 tells us:

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”

Listen, there is NO time out with this war.  Whether or not we want to admit that there is a war going on around us, does not hault the truth of it.  The devil wants to take you down!  He doesn’t do a “time out.”  Remember that John 10:10 says:

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Don’t be surprised if he switches tactics if he isn’t successful in his war against you, more often he will circle back around and tries the same methods that (were successful in the past) more than once.

STAND YOUR GROUND IN CHRIST JESUS

James 4:7:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

The most important thing to remember is that the devil is a created being.  He is NOT God.  He is NOT greater than God.  If you are part of God’s called remnant (someone who has accepted Jesus as their Savior, made Him Lord OVER your life) than Greater is He that is in you than he that is within the world.  Don’t fall for Ol’ Slewfoot’s lies, tricks and/or deception.

YOUR LIFE BELONGS TO GOD.  ALTHOUGH GOD MAY ALLOW YOU TO GO THROUGH CERTAIN THINGS, THE DEVIL CANNOT DO ANYTHING THAT GOD DOES NOT PERMIT.  AND IF GOD HAS BROUGHT YOU TO SOMETHING, HE WILL BRING YOU THROUGH IT. DON’T LOSE HEART, DON’T STOP TRUSTING GOD.  DON’T STOP PRAISING HIM. DON’T STOP PRAYING.  IN ALL THINGS CONTINUE TO KEEP YOUR EYES FOCUSED ON GOD. HE IS OUR REDEEMER, HE IS OUR FATHER, HE IS THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH. THE STEPS OF THE RIGHTEOUS ARE ORDERED BY GOD.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says:

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

Listen Remnant, no matter what tricks and schemes the enemy brings against you, deligently stand firm in Christ, remembering that the devil is as a toothless lion. He is the father of deception, the only victory he can have over us is the victory we allow him to have.  Stay alert, remember that the victory has ALREADY been won by Jesus, our Lord and Savior.  If we keep our eyes on Jesus and walk in the victory that He has provided us, He will direct our path.  As we lean on Holy Spirit for understanding and guidance we learn how to recognize the tactics of the enemy.  I’m not saying it is easy, I’m not saying we will always be successful in recognizing what those tactics are, but if we continue to ask for wisdom, guidance and discernment, our God Who is faithful will give us insight.  We CANNOT fight this enemy on our own strength, we must lean on God because it is God we are dependent on.

1 Peter 5:8 advises us as follows:

“Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your path.”

I speak from personal experience when I say that there are times when the devil and his demons have found themselves unsuccessful in some tactics against me  (usually it is a tactic where I have learned to recognize that it is an attack, or a lesson I have learned FROM an attack, hence I know to pray against it.  There is a saying, “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice same on me.”  Usuallywhen I learn a lesson (even if I learn the hardway) I don’t forget what it is I have learned!  Holy Spirit gives you discernment and shows you areas within yourself where “the walls of faith are weak” and need to be built up.  It is up to us to make sure that all areas of “us” are covered by the blood of Jesus.  How do we do this?  We ask Holy Spirit to show us the areas within us that need work.  We make sure that we are walking in love and in forgiveness.  We make sure that we are applying the Word of God to our lives.  We continue to praise and worship the Lord, and of course to pray! Prayer and Worship are our most powerful weapons.  We recognize that we NEED the constant covering of Jesus to protect us. Psalm 91:1-16 says:

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

The Battle belongs to God, as long as we have breathe in our body we are in the midst of a spiritual war and the devil will NOT stop at trying to thrawt us.  The thing to holdfast to is that NO one can snatch us OUT of the Father’s hand.  God SEES all and KNOWS all and will protect those that belong to Him.  Jesus won’t lose ANY ONE OF US that belongs to Him.  He prayed the following in John 17:9-13:

“I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they are Yours. All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine. And glory has come to Me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your name, the name You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name You gave Me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled. “I am coming to You now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of My joy within them. I have given them Your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that You take them out of the world but that You protect them from the evil one.”

Recognize that our strength for all battles we endure in the spiritual war occuring all around us is in Jesus.  Ephesians 6:12 tells us:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Dearest Reader, I write all this for you to stand steadfast, no matter what the evil one throws your way.  God IS an everpresent help in time of trouble.  If we keep our eyes focused upon Him, standing steadfast and remembering that the battle has ALREADY been won, we will NOT lose the peace that passes ALL understand that is only found in knowing and having Jesus as the center of our lives.  NO ONE and NOTHING is greater than God, and WE belong to Him.  Remember who you are in Christ Jesus and the price that has been paid.  Jesus IS Lord of ALL.  We ARE victorious through ALL that the devil and his demons throw our way.  In the end, as it says in the book of Revelations 10:20:

“And the devil who had deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

And we who are God’s Remnant will remain with God FOREVER and EVER for ALL eternity.  Praise His Holy name.  Thank you Jesus! \0/ \0/ \0/
