Being part of God’s Called Remnant (a follower of Jesus) does not mean that life will be void of struggles and hardships – I have to be honest with you – there are days when I wake up with So many questions in my head, anxiety tries to take over my mind, but here is the thing you have to remember when the same happens to you –
TURN TO GOD, NOT AWAY
The truth of the matter is that when you made a decision to accept Jesus into your heart as your Savior, make Him LORD OVER your life, Holy Spirit removed the scales that covered your spiritual eyes and enlightened you to the fact that you are in the VERY center of a spiritual war that has ALWAYS been happening around you, you just weren’t aware of it…
NOW YOU ARE
And because of your decision to accept God’s gift of redemption, you are now considered “enemy #1” to the devil and his demons. Before they didn’t pay much mind to you, because you were “spiritually dead” and not making an impact on the war occurring all around you. You weren’t a threat… But now you have changed sides –
YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE UTMOST HIGH GOD, AN AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST
And satan (I never capitalize his name, he’s not worth it) is angry that He has lost another soul to damnation, So, Warrior for Christ – you need not be afraid, God’s got you!
BUT BE AWARE AND COGNANT OF THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE NOW ENLISTED IN THE ARMY OF THE LORD
In spite of all I have experienced in my 37 years of being in Christ, I will tell you that although the battle IS fierce, the honest to God truth is that –
IT IS WORTH IT
When you decide that you want to give your life to Jesus, and you fall passionately in love with Him – there is NO going back. I wish I could find adequate words to describe how WONDERFUL it is to come into the knowledge that God LOVES you and to determine to love Him back with ALL your heart. What have I found in Christ? I have found a love that is BEYOND any adequate words I could possibly write!
HE TRULY IS A GOOD, GOOD FATHER! AND HE LOVES YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE!
The joy that floods your soul, and the peace is NOT something that you can experience until you decide to accept God’s gift of redemption. No matter what you go through, the knowledge that God IS greater, that you ARE on the winning side (the victory has already been won by Jesus) just makes you love and adore Him more! The knowledge that NO MATTER what comes your way, God IS with you! The unbelievable knowledge that no matter what you have done, thought, experienced – God loves you! He forgives you! He wants to have the MOST amazing close relationship with you! You ARE special! You ARE unique! You ARE one of a kind and the Father loves you with an EVERLASTING love! You can TRUST Him! You can live for Him! No matter what you experience and go through in this life, He is RIGHT there WITH you EVERY step of the way!
It seems so much harder when you are going through warfare and hard times – but when you feel like that, it’s important not to listen to what satan and his demons try to whisper in your ear – remember, he is “the father of lies” and the VERY last thing he wants is for you to grow in your relationship with Jesus. This is where it is important to get God’s Word (the Bible) into your heart. To learn your promises and know the truth! The truth TRULY sets us free and it is found ONLY in Christ.
Sometimes picking up your Bible and taking time to read it can feel like it is the HARDEST thing to do! That’s because the enemy doesn’t WANT you to KNOW the Word of God, KNOW your promises! Grow closer to Christ in your walk with Him. That is the time when you HAVE to make that effort to push past the warfare and open your Bible. God often speaks to us through His Word and the ONLY way to know your promises is to read it!
Don’t be surprised by the warfare and attacks that the enemy throws against you – stand firm in Christ! Refute ALL lies of the enemy by the Word of God! Your steps are ordered by God. He’s got you! You are HIS! Pray through the warfare! Stand strong in Christ! The key is keeping your eyes focused on Jesus!
